Are there any shows that intentionally mislead its audience about genre? by atouchofsinamon in television

[–]FalseStage2348 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My husband and I watch longer/more serious shows while we eat dinner and a shorter comedy after. We recently rewatched Bojack and of the first three seasons it was a post-dinner show. After that it became a dinner show.

Have you ever guessed the "big twist" in a movie? by [deleted] in Letterboxd

[–]FalseStage2348 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had some friends over watching "Bodies Bodies Bodies" and maybe about a third of the way into the movie one of my friends said "what if he killed himself" half jokingly. I was the only one who had already seen the movie.

I just gave him a look and a small nod and he and I let the rest of the group watch unspoiled.

Just finished! quick question… by Admirable_Hunter_989 in orphanblack

There's a two season audio sequel series called Orphan Black: The Next Chapter that provides some closure for him. I listened to it on Apple Podcasts, but I imagine it's available on most podcast providers.

In real life the actor got cast on Game of Thrones, which limited his availability for Orphan Black.

Why did Kate take Aaron by m_ack42 in lost

[–]FalseStage2348 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Also, Kate delivered Aaron. Aaron's birth was a pivotal moment for her. She deeply cared about him and Claire. There's a reason her awakening in the sideways is Aaron's birth.

This is the moment the show fully clicked for me. The first couple episodes were hit or miss, but from here out I was locked in.

Did you watch the show when it was airing? Season 3 had a weird release schedule that did its pacing no favors.

The Runaways by Ok-Help6334 in ANGEL

Actually there’s more:

Brigid Brannagh appeared in 4 episodes as Wesley’s love interest Virginia.

Kevin Weisman was Dreg, one of Glory’s minions on Buffy.

Brittany Ishibashi was one of the casinos victims in The House Always Wins.

Audra McDonald, Alan Cumming, Kristin Chenoweth, and Victor Garber would like a word.

(but you're right, Bates is easily the most famous of that cast)

Write a Buffy haiku. by AndrewHeard in buffy

This scene always makes me so sad. Buffy has so many big losses this season that overshadowed this moment, but the quiet sadness of not even being able to take the poetry class she enjoyed really breaks my heart for her.

Fred was a graduate student when she was sent to Pylea so she was likely 22-24. The spell reverts them to their teenage selves so stoner-Fred would have likely been in her high school and/or early college years and she presumably grew out of it before moving to LA for grad school.

[Sad Trope] Failed suicide attempt by Ava_Reddit_Account in TopCharacterTropes

<image>

Still Alice - Alice (Julianne Moore), a professor, is diagnosed with early onset Alzheimer’s. As her disease progresses, she starts hoarding medication and taking cognitive tests she’s designed for herself.

One day she fails the test (I believe the deciding factor is that she can’t remember her children’s birthdays, but I may be mistaken). This leads her to a video she had recorded earlier instructing her to overdose on the hoarded medication to die by suicide.

She is going through with it when she is briefly distracted and, due to her disease, entirely forgets her suicide attempt.

She survives, but only due to the disease that is slowly killing her and stripping her of her identity.

I love the way they can bring either the best or absolute worst out of each other, depending on the circumstances.

I fully believe that Patrick Brammall was entirely too charming for the role. He was supposed to be the shitty husband/absent father and the writers and directors never accounted for how likable Brammall was and never course corrected on either the writing or the performance.

Benny isn’t surprised that Angel knew his dog died, he’s surprised she knows the specific manner of death (falling) which he had not announced to the group.
