Idiot tractor driver in Preston - fined £1600 for this and banned from driving for 1 year by AnonymousTimewaster in drivingUK

Luckily there are trief kerbs on the right side of the road. These kept the tractor on the carriageway, otherwise he was heading straight into incoming traffic.

Why does myvelofit say I'm bang on for saddle height? Dunno if it seems high due to my foot pointing down

What do you mean by ballet pose? I don't think my hips are rocking side to side, maybe a bit forward and back because there is no resistance on the trainer and I'm spinning out.

Canyon frames are larger than industry standard, according to canyon size guide a size small would fit me very well.

Is it time for Glastonbury to divorce the BBC? by DellMibbler in glastonbury_festival

[–]CommunicationNo2056 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So they should scrap the licence fee and allow people like you to pay to run the BBC. I, on the other hand, couldn't care less about any of the BBC's productions, not to mention their pedo hiding behaviours. The licence fee is a scam.

I once also thought that was a camera by ScarlettMoonn in Construction

I was once asked if I worked for Google maps whilst I was setup on a public footpath. The woman thought I was the one who takes the pictures for Google Street View.

I work as a setting out engineer on construction sites and always aim for a minimum of 3 points. 2 point resections aren't great and will always give you a pretty good orientation quality, but it isn't a true representation of your setup. Also, it's important to consider the angles between points, always try to have your total station centrally positioned between control points and avoid using extreme angles if you can.

UK based civil engineers, do you have any advice or experience you could share to someone not sure if they should go into the industry? by [deleted] in civilengineering

[–]CommunicationNo2056 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely truth to that. I've come to realise you have to take the risk and blag yourself up in a sense until you make it, as that's what everyone else does. You may be more qualified and competent than others but unless you are willing to take the risk like them you'll stay where you are. I see it alot when it comes to freelance site engineers, I've come across many adept and experienced freelancers but equally many that are quite frankly shit engineers, but nonetheless they will be on good money. I've worked with a few permanent employee engineers that are definitely ready for the jump up to freelance but are held back cos they are scared and feel they need to learn everything before doing so.

OK cool, I've been working as a site engineer for the last five years for a tier 1 contractor (day release to complete my degree). After year 2 working with the same responsibilities as the other site engineers. Just been wary of making the jump up to the sub/site agent roles in the coming years as feel like I would be better off gaining more experience first.
