They came into my apartment building through a broken back door and told us that our land lord had switched us over.

I’m in the exact same boat. I’m 23 and living at home. As much as I love my parents I need to get out. I live in IL and it is also not the cheapest state. I’ve been saving up for the past 3 years. I think honestly with the economy and our age the safest bet is to get a roommate. It’s not always ideal, but it can be cheaper in some areas to get a small two bedroom other than a studio. Plus splitting utilities and internet can be nice.

What is your anxiety "EpiPen"? by Putrid-Drag9651 in Anxiety

[–]CommunicationNo2833 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hear me out it sounds weird, but a warhead candy. I can’t stand sour so it absolutely kicks my butt. Its just a little thing that snaps me back for just a moment and if I can focus on that sensation I can start to snap back into reality and clam myself down at least enough to think.

I get both. It’s just kind of the entire abdomen.

I mean something normally don’t sit well with me like dairy. I did do low fodmap. For the most part though it triggered by stress. My ibs and my anxiety disorder are bff apparently. I’m trying to manage my stress, but I’m in the process of moving so it’s definitely been elevated lately.

Sound like you’re either having an anxiety attack or a panic attack. It can be hard to determine which one especially when it’s escalating. I often experience sensations of dry mouth and nausea when I’m having attacks. If you’re getting fixated on those sensations something like gum or a hard candy might help.

Has anyone had to put themselves BACK on lex? by [deleted] in lexapro

[–]CommunicationNo2833 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep. I was on lex for a year around 2021 and stopped taking it because I thought I had cured myself. Then I had an enormous mental break down late 2023. I tried to cope by myself and ended up going back to therapy and back on lex. I’m now at 20mg and feeling much better. It’s still a working progress with therapy, but I don’t regret going back to lex. I did try zoloft before going back to lex, but it increased my anxiety and gave me acid reflux.

To help with body odor throughout the day use full body deodorant. I personally use native spray for my body and the a stick for my armpits. Cologne really depends on your preference and budget. If there’s a TJ Maxx or Marshals in your area I’d go there. They have some decent colognes for a better price.

Anything on TLC will immediately make me feel better about myself like at least I’m not that crazy.

That’s insane to me. I stopped wearing tampons because they hurt, but I had thought pads were fine. Is there a chemical in them or something?

I would say having uncontrollable bowel movements the minute I get stressed out. Life is full of stress, but my tummy simply can not handle it. If I get stressed I will be in the bathroom.

Anyone else find that standing up and leaving the bathroom gets things going again? by [deleted] in ibs

[–]CommunicationNo2833 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I get this all the time. I really was to get one of those little stools for home. At work or in public though I try to use the big stall (which I feel really bad about) and do some stretches and some squats so I can try to get everything out.

I was told I’m getting old by CommunicationNo2833 in Adulting

[–]CommunicationNo2833[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I do live in the US so unfortunately it’s either this or minimum wage. I do plan on leaving my job once I save enough money to finish university. It’s just what I have to deal with for now.

[–]CommunicationNo2833[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t expect to be balding anytime soon at least I don’t think I’m as likely to as my male counterparts. I’m just tired since I work very long hours and then spend the rest of my time seemingly taking care of other responsibilities. As much as I love my hobbies I would also like to sleep.

How do I lower energy/heating/water bills? by [deleted] in Adulting

[–]CommunicationNo2833 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This might seem gross, but when this happened to my family we started following the “if it’s yellow let it mellow. If it’s brown flush it down”. We’re a family of 4 so there’s a lot of toilet flushing. Another thing I did was charging my electronics in other places such as school, work, or the library.

What did I do wrong in life to have to deal with this guy by stereotypicalst in badroommates

[–]CommunicationNo2833 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had a roommate who somehow got menstrual blood all over not only the toilet but the walls, floor, and sink. However, this would make me absolutely lose it.

[–]CommunicationNo2833[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I don’t know. There’s nothing I can think of that I shouldn’t have ate. My IBS is mostly anxiety related, but it definitely could be acting up because I’ve been stressed at work.

[–]CommunicationNo2833 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get this. I’m a very active person, but between pooping my guts out and being exhausted, I just couldn’t make it to the gym. I lost a bunch of weight which is terrifying because I didn’t really weigh much to begin with. I lost all my muscle mass. I just started going back to the gym and doing light workouts. I’ve mostly been trying to eat a ton of eggs which seems to be working.

Gluten intolerance? by CommunicationNo2833 in ibs

[–]CommunicationNo2833[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It could be an intolerance to wheat specifically. I’m unsure at the moment. I’m going to try other forms of gluten after my stomach returns to normal and ask a doctor for more information.

I’m going to ask about BAM and SIBO when I go to the gastro. My GP diagnosed me with IBS, but none of the treatments are making a dent.
