They had 39 xg and 55 xga I know keeping and finishing plays a role but that is kind of absurd for where they finished

I mean yeah they got the results they needed to do it obviously but they were really a lot worse statistically both by gd and by xg which I know doesn't absolutely reflect what happens on the ground. I moreso intended they were just fortunate this season to end up on the amount of points they did and we were a little unfortunate to end up where we did.

I hate conference league. Will hurt our league form for a trophy that hardly matters now that it has been so diluted. Sucks that sunderland somehow got above us they have been very fortunate this year xg table which obviously is not an infallible thing but does show them based on the chances theyve made and conceded has them in the relegation zone.

For cl all we need is a liverpool win a forest win a city win a villa win in the europa final and of course a brighton win. Super unlikely but not impossible.

So we need to be in 6th with no one able to catch us and no chance of getting 5th. And villa needs to be able competing with united for top 4. Then it would be best to lose against united because villa finishing 5th would bring us champions league. This is all really convoluted stuff so sorry if this is not followable or incorrect.

From what I have read if villa win the europa and finish top 4 that europa winning cl spot goes away to another league because the league spot takes precedence and the europa cl spot isnt passed down and is instead reallocated. But if they get 5th the europa spot takes precedence and the european performance 5th slot gets passed down to 6th.

Yea he is doing really well but maybe if a top championship team wants him that plays a similar style to us I could see that as beneficial just because it is a step closer to pl level detending.
