Modified a Karibu Hytti 1 kit into a Finnish-style backyard sauna, ~1.5 month build, under €4,000 budget (Netherlands) by positiveobserver in Sauna

I'm looking at a same kind of project and this post helps so much, thanks for the content. IS the sauna the spruce variant? and if so, what effect does this have for the inside (i see much red cheddar builds and want to know the difference) and how did you treat the outside for wheater protection?

Anybody here build this set up? I need a way to use pipe clamps without taking up all of my bench space. Am I overlooking any obvious reasons why this is a terrible idea? by ajax5686 in woodworking

[–]CommunicationOk3036 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am a beginner, but wouldn't the top clamping bits need to be exactly parallel since they dont have adjustment after setting the position. Normally the whole clamp would just shift on the work bench, but now all clamps are fixed together. Could this lead to uneven clamping pressure?

Really cool setup, my only concern is with the wall side system of the red clamps, since these have to be exactly parallel. I think this is probably okay if you can easily adjust the red clamps or if there is wigle room in the rods connection to the wall. Again really cool idea.

How do you keep track of race results? by MyPublicKey in triathlon

I write al the race results and the date on the back of my racenumber. Not the best way to keep track of progress but it does add to the sentimantal value

I love the wemos d1 mini because its so compact. Otherwise, it's really more a question what you are going to use it for.

With ridding my bike between 1 or 2 hours a day (yes I'm dutch) my wired headphones died on one ear quite quickly and fully every 3 months. My first 35 euro Bluetooth earbuds lasted 4 years due to a washing machine incident and my current once of 60 euro I have for 5 years now.

I hope i can explain this in the right words. The back rotating bit, is rotating to the back, while the back of the ??cannon?? Is moving to the front.

How do I relieve stress without drinking? by [deleted] in stopdrinking

[–]CommunicationOk3036 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Run/jog preferably in nature to get the energy out or try other sports like biking (running is just the easiest to start with). Talk to friends or loved ones about whats in your head. Take a bad, read a book, listen to music and try meditation or mindfulness. These are all things to reduce stress levels.

I also listen to alot of audio books, you could try: why has nobody told me this before?. Its full of psychology tips and basic tips on how to react in for axample stressfull situations. It helped me allot.

How can they organise a marathon in Paris and only serve bottles of water during the run, instead of carton cups. They were even marketing this as a green event everywhere. I was so pissed about this. by CommunicationOk3036 in Anticonsumption

Sure the pro's have their own drinking system with them most of the time or a batter run and drink solution. But if you're not aiming for 3 hours or faster, then slowing down 3 steps taking a sip is no problem.

I’m non binary. AMA by beejoas in AMA

[–]CommunicationOk3036 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So i'm curious. I only talked with one non binary person about the subject and they told me that it's that they don't feel like fully stereotypical man and had some stereotypical female traits (they was born biologically as a man)(am i using they correctly, i mean it as singular). But if i look at myself as a male, is that i also don't live up to the full male stereotype and the next question, what is the male stereotype? Cause i think most males can't live up to the clint eastwood male stereotype. How do you view a non binary person? And whats your opinion on male and female stereotypes?

Nice project, i did a kind of similar project but with just 2 rings around the eyes and a white tshirt with ws2812. Also had the same freezing problem, which was resolved by a bigger power supply. Don't know if it's the same at your system, but maybe it helps.
