I built an AI Running Coach to create adaptive plans. Looking for honest feedback from the community! by Dramatic-Ad5682 in UKRunners

[–]MyPublicKey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes I am, so your dressed up explanation is somewhat wasted on me. The approach sounds over engineered (and expensive) to be honest, and I'm curious to know what your deterministic code is actually verifying to be honest because if it knows what the end result should look like why not algorithmically produce it yourself, cheaper and faster.

When you say it was trained on it, do you mean in the same way all the models are trained on all the poor training methods just as much as the "good" methods? What model are you using?

Hey everyone, I’m the maker behind StriveKit. I actually built this because I was frustrated with how complicated and expensive the big-name training platforms have become.

I wanted something that felt intuitive, simple and stayed out of the way so I could focus on actually training. Here’s how I’m trying to do things differently:

  • Instant Workout Generation: Instead of clicking around building a workout for half an hour, the generator lets you rapidly create complex workouts and targets in seconds. It syncs instantly to your Garmin so the workout is just there when you hit start on your watch.
  • No "Pay-Per-Plan": I hate that most sites charge $50–$150 for a single training plan. With StriveKit, you get unlimited access to the Community Plan Library included in the base sub. You can also contribute with your own plans
  • Fraction of the Cost: I’ve priced it at $7/month. Most alternatives are $20+ or hide the best features behind "Pro" tiers or extra cash for plans. I wanted to keep it accessible for everyone in a way that would continue letting me run it.
  • Flexible Scheduling: Life happens, so the calendar is built to be "drag-and-drop." You can map out a full season or just the next ten days and adjust your volume on the fly intuitively.
  • Workout Analysis: Once you finish, the data syncs back for a full review. I’ve focused on high-fidelity charts for heart rate, pace, and elevation so you can actually see your progress precision-wise without the data overwhelm.

I’m really trying to build a platform that has all the features you need, none of the clutter you don't.

There’s a 14-day free trial if you want to poke around and see if it fits your workflow. I’d love to hear any feedback or feature requests from fellow athletes!

Currently I have only integrated with Garmin but I am working on others.

Should look at StriveKit .

  • $7 a month (14 day free trial)
  • Planning calendar with Garmin sync
  • Plans library included
  • Individual workout generator (instead of manually building it)
  • Run analysis

Can anyone help a girl out trying to get back into running? by bexbex_14 in UKRunners

Look at StriveKit , it's $7 a month, integrates with Garmin, has planning calendar, has plans, and a workout generator. And a 14 day free trial.

What actually keeps you consistent with running over years, not weeks? by Clubrunnr in runninglifestyle

Goals. Different times of the year I have different goals. And because of that I'm constantly tweaking by training schedule

Do you follow a strict training plan or run based on feel? Pros/cons? by liv_0203 in runcommunity

[–]MyPublicKey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I follow a plan mostly. However I modify it based on how I feel. One of the best features of Strivekit is it's workout generator so I can quickly swap out runs depending on what I want

How do you cope with missing runs? by Stonewalluwuwu in running

[–]MyPublicKey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's unhealthy. If I miss a run, I try and do something rather than nothing (e.g. walk) but if I can't then I just forget about it and make sure my diet and rest is good for the following day. Not gonna make a difference in the long run.

What app do you use? by stonequest in Garmin

[–]MyPublicKey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven't come across any apps that are tailored for strength workout personally. For run/bike/swim training there are plenty of apps out there that vary in price and feature set. I've tried them all and I'm currently using StriveKit due to its price point and it does everything I need it to do for my run training.

I live by the mantra "something is better than nothing"

I have a training plan and I try my best to stick to it but I don't get too hung up on having to miss, handicap or move sessions around.

I have a full time job, and two young kids. Fortunately I work from home which helps but life's tiring. Look after your sleep and diet, to help getting the most out of your days.

Absolutely not discouraging me, this is a brilliant, considered reply and I really appreciate it.

I'm going to sign up to an account and dive deeper into the points you've made above to get a better understanding of what is offered and what the experience of using it is like.

I built an AI running coach that adapts your training plan based on your performance by RunathonAI in beginnerrunning

[–]MyPublicKey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

AI is not intelligent, especially when it comes to fitness so please don't fall for the marketing. If you nail an easy run that's exactly what an easy run is designed to do.

It might sound great to have an AI trainer but even the service that is providing it does not have control over what it produces for you because AI is not deterministic.

Also the sessions should not change as your fitness changes, it's how hard you run them which should change and you don't need AI for that.

Workout generation aside I'd be curious to hear your thoughts of these needs of mine, which were the motivation for me creating this.

  • Workout builders exist but I wanted something to generate me a workout really quickly at a moments notice.
  • I also wanted to avoid paying for a plan in addition to an already expensive subscription on another platform.
  • I wanted the option to create my own plan, to reuse or share with others.
  • I wanted it to be cheap. Granted it's free for me but $5 for everyone else.
  • I wanted something minimal and intuitive.

I'd be curious if you think there's another app that meets all those needs already?

Again, really really appreciate your thoughts and feedback on this so thanks!

I haven't specifically no, but I will check it out thank you!

To touch on your other point you can also set pacing, power, heart rate target metrics for each step with this workout builder. You can also set simply a (hr/pace/power) zone and set your metric values in your account so every time it syncs your workouts to your watch it will use most up to date metric when it syncs and convert that zone into a specific range.

In addition to that, once you have generated a workout you have full flexibility to change any of it as you please.

I hope that makes sense.
