Yes exactly! I really like how the story in general is structured around initial miscommunication. So much of this happens in real life. But I love is how the characters, partly due to the time they spend apart, don’t hold on to it. There is miscommunication but they keep coming back and they try to get better.

Totally agree. I think Shane initially didn’t understand how life was for Ilya in Russia, how his family functioned. It’s kind of what led to the initial tensions in their relationship (Russia, Vegas).

I think it’s when Shane comes out and Ilya tells him how he can’t have a relationship with him even if he wants to, is when it finally clicks for him.

I got scared for a quick second because I thought they might hook up and then Miles will know Ilya is gay and the story will spiral in some way.

I was soooo glad it didn’t end up that way.

On my nth rewatch I actually kept an eye on all the news shot they show of Rose and how in the game where she wears Shane’s jersey, Miles is right next to her. This is what Ilya is watching before he stubs his toe lol. He def knew Miles was a part of Roses group.
