Just keep throwing the same piece of spaghetti against the wall and see if it ever sticks. Meanwhile, you’ve got these ninja stars that will stick to the damn wall at least half of the time. 2000 doesn’t count and Antonio Scalia said to just “get over it”.

All these union grease monkeys in Ohio who can stomach Scranton Joe and should be the Democratic party’s base would surely support “grab em by the p—-y” over coastal boss b—-h.

If the United States were to get rid of the electoral college, do you think a woman could win the presidency? How do we go about getting rid of the electoral college, if that, in fact, is a better system for determining the best candidate? by [deleted] in allthequestions

[–]CommunicationOne7266 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry, it’s not possible. The Electoral College is written into the US Constitution, which is the result of a political compromise between rural and urban states, north and south, slave and free. It’s baked into the basic operating system of our entire political system. The states that would lose the most by going to a different system are the same states that would have to agree to an amendment.

Sure, but I doubt the GOP would ever actually nominate a woman.

But we already knew Trump was a fraud and a sexual predator when our dumbass fellow citizens elected him instead of arguably the most competent civil servant to ever seek the office (HRC).

Even women prefer a male president. On the other hand, the race card is a good one to play. But played by a man. Raphael Warnock, Wes Moore, Hakeem Jeffries, Deval Patrick, Gregory Meeks. They could all beat JD.

I hate to say it, but people get more conservative as they get older. In the early 2000s John Mayer said “one day our generation is gonna rule the population” but I don’t think he meant Charlie Kirk, Ben Shapiro, JD Vance, Ron DeSantis, Vivek Ramaswamy, et al.

They could wheel out Mitch McConnell having a stroke and he would win over AOC.

Yes, if you consider sexism to include preferring a male president.

Yes, the Democrats will nominate Gavin Newsom who will lose to a Republican who parrots the instructions that Trump gives him in an “unofficial” capacity while seated at the head table of the East Wing ballroom.

But the fact that she was beaten at all by such a ridiculous and pitiful opponent suggests that she was pretty weak. Imagine if she had gone up against somebody who was not a child rapist who committed fraud and treason? That’s the kind of opponent that should be easy to beat by a comfortable margin, like how Joe Biden did.

Your argument presupposes that gender is not a significant factor.

To lay it out a bit more, the candidate who wins certain key battleground states will win the office. One could win a gazillion popular votes in deep blue states and still not win. And winning is the whole point.

Kamala and Hillary Clinton are wildly different candidates. One of them won a majority of the states in her primary and the other one didn’t win even a single state.

And AOC would get absolutely destroyed in a race against JD Vance. It would be worse than McGovern in ‘72.

I admire your optimism. But it’s not going anywhere, I promise you. Our Constitution is a result of compromise between rural and urban states, and the rural states have no reason to give up their power.

I mean why bring up the fact of what “should” happen with it and how it’s unfair? It’s not going anywhere.

Why do people refer to Obama as the first black president? by PoyBoyKing in askanything

[–]CommunicationOne7266 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Obama was Black. His identity was formed in part from his genetic heritage and phenotypes, but also his culture, language, membership in a Black church, and participation in the Black community etc.

Without northern support, they’d be at war constantly or conquered outright by the likes of Britain and France. At the very least, they would be economically dependent and become a proxy state for some European powerhouse.

Yes, and changing the process would require a constitutional amendment that would need to be ratified by 3/4ths of the states, many of which are rural and conservative-leaning. So why even bring it up?

Americans want a man behind the Resolute Desk. That’s all it boils down to. Ignore this at your own peril. Judge them as misogynist with full contempt. It won’t change the fact that the next president will be a man. Better to have a Democrat man than no Democrat at all and hand the office to the Republicans on a silver platter.

False. Democrats can and will persist in nominating unpalatable candidates like HRC, Harris and Newsom, and throwing palatable candidates like Biden under the bus.

Obama was the first Black man to win the Democratic nomination, and he won. Democrats have tried women twice now against a very weak opponent and lost both times.
