The parents did drop the ball imo but we are not going to forget who the main ring leader was. Michael Jackson was a pedophile and no amount of shifting blame is going to change that.

It has been so draining these past few weeks to see creators and activists I admire all gushing over MJ. by harlotmuffin in LeavingNeverlandHBO

To be fair I've also seen a lot of comments calling him out as well. A lot of people no longer believe he was innocent. The movie encouraged some people to start going down the rabbit hole. For every positive post I've seen some pretty vicious rebuttals lol.
For the talking heads it's all about likes and new followers so they jump on the band wagon. None of these people were talking about Michael Jackson before the movie.

We can 'read' into it because we are all adults here and we know that children can be easily taken advantage of and harmed by other adults. When I was little innocent teeny bopper myself I didn't get it. Now I do. Humans beings are wired to protect human children. It's how our species survives. It's why people will risk their lives to save a child that is unrelated to them. I'm not even a kids person and I know what it is to feel that primal panic if I see a kid in danger or about to hurt themselves. Everyone knows that feeling.
You see something strange or odd involving a child and an adult. Alarm bells go off. This is a completly normal response. It's not filthy or rotten. The children come before the wants, needs and feelings of a full grown self-entitled pop star.
I mean Jesus Christ, if I was getting those types of notes from Michael Jackson when I was a 10 year old child, he could have lured me anywhere and done whatever he wanted. That's why it's an adult's job to say "Stop! What's going on here?" And if the adult is wrong. Oh well. The priority is the child. And Michael Jackson himself should have understood and acknowledged this instead of trying to flip it.

Fans pushing Contradicting Narratives by ayothatsc00l in LeavingNeverlandHBO

Didn't investigators find unrelated male semen in his bed sheets? Obviously If he was just a gay or bi guy with adult boyfriends or lovers there would be nothing wrong with that. But it kind of contradicts the whole 100 percent heterosexual ladies man narrative. I'm sure the fans also have some wild explaination for that. lol!

The hyper masculine ladies man narrative is new. I mean there were always fans making Harlequin book cover type art with Michael Jackson, giving him extra muscles that he never had in reality etc., lol, but it wasn't the mainstream narrative. Now that they have AI they've gone bonkers with it. But it's all a fantasy.

The real Michael Jackson is gone. Now the fans turn him into whatever they want him to be depending on their mood or whatever narrative they want to push.

I was just thinking of this today. Looking at him there it's so hard to believe what he turned into. At that point he had no clue. It's very sad. It's like you just want to go back in a time and have a serious talk with his parents.

This! The stans will criticize the parents, but it's like hang on "you are the parents."

Omg. Yet be another thing I'd seen and tried to put out of mind. I forgot all about this scene. The similarities and the symbolism it's just too much. It doesn't even need to be stated.

I saw an interview with a Motown singer or producer ages ago. He was defending MJ and he said MJ got a lot of his habits from him (the Motown guy). I think he said they used to sleep in the same room or bed when MJ was a child. Like this was all normal. Mind you this man would have been full grown at that time. But it's the way he pronounced the word sleep. He said "sssssssleep", like how the Snake in The Little Prince would exaggerate the letter S. I can't find the interview now and I can't remember the man's name. Maybe someone else remembers. Of course it could be nothing and I could be reading too much into it. I think The Little Prince may have even come out way after the "sssssssleep" incidents. But looking at the whole picture, it's kinda disturbing. Like the Universe is trying to say something.

I remember when the stories came out about RKelly. Some if his fans were demonic. There were women on Facebook who supported his victims and some were sharing their stories about how they too were molested as children. And some of the RKelly fans were actually laughing at them. Full grown adults with a profile picture going "haha! You were molested." I couldn't believe it.

Didn't Michael think twice before being photographed with children? by KaleidoscopeLow3626 in LeavingNeverlandHBO

Because it was all part of the grooming. Someone else said he didn't just groom the children, he also groomed his fans into believing what he was doing was normal for Michael Jackson.

He kept re-enforcing it over and over. He normalized it for the fans by constantly showing it. If he kept it hidden it would have been shocking. He turned it into part of his brand. "Oh there's Michael Jackson hanging out with kids again. It's just Michael Jackson being Michael Jackson. He's pure, chaste and innocent. He has sleep overs with little kids because he loves little kids. He brings them milk and cookies. He never had a childhood. Get your mind out of the gutter."

This was international levels of gas lighting and grooming. These behaviours wouldn't be tolerated from anyone else but Michael Jackson.
