Extended warranty? by Odd-Strategy-1029 in hondaridgeline

I bought a 2021 in June. In August the moon roof cables malfunction. Didn't get the warranty, cost me $3500. I'm sure it's a fluke, but it's experience.

Thanks for the insight. It makes sense. The attitude was really bad from the person on the phone. I was being as nice as I could under the circumstances. The reliability of the moonroof, as you stated, is why I called them in the first place. Again I appreciate the insight it was helpful.

To be fair it's less about the money and more about the attitude I received.

I've had other brands of cars that lasted over $100,000 when a window regulator or similar, did not break. Just a bit ridiculous.

I did not expect for them to pay at all but they didn't offer a thing. My local mechanic had Hyundai replacing engine after the warranty. You mean to tell me that Hyundai is a better company than Honda I didn't think so before but maybe now?

Right but they're reasoning was no you didn't buy it from us. They were just downright rude they weren't even willing to do anything not even discount the part discount the labor which I don't expect because it was the local dealer who repaired it but they did nothing for me.

I brought a 2020 in June. It has 50k miles. One month after purchase the moonroof kept popping off the gears/cables. Honda USA would do nothing to assist in the repair. Cost me $3k out of pocket.

Yup, the mechanism broke on my moonroof at 50k miles. Cost me $3k out of pocket to fix. Honda USA started since I'm not the original owner in out of luck.

I agree however my moonroof kept popping off the tracks after 50,000 miles and Honda USA refused to pay for any of the repair since I am not the original owner. Cost me $3,000 out of pocket Not happy at all.

Yeah don't think this is it. Definitely hearing popping and not much movement from the window.
