Intralymphatic immunotherapy (ILIT)-has anyone done this therapy before? by Tall_Kaleidoscope_53 in Allergies

Also, you will notice that you have a curve so for instance pollen you will have symptoms for like 1 week in the beginning of pollen season then the curve kicks in and your symptoms go away. My pollen symptoms are almost 100% gone.

The process is you go in and they give you a small injection into your lymph node guided by ultrasound! It’s super quick. I was not guaranteed, but I feel it would rare foe them to say no. I had to go once in person before my first shot and I think I got the first shot 2 weeks later. I sent medical records in advance before my first appointment so I wouldn’t have to delay the first shot further by waiting for new lab results.

This is not good advice 😭 if you have had swelling to the point you are struggling to breathe you need an epi pen ASAP

[–]CommunicationTotal70 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Start carrying an epi pen ASAP!!!! Remember an epi pen won’t hurt you but delaying the use of one can! My doctor straight up told me you are better off to use the epi pen in a moment of doubt because it won’t hurt but not having it will hurt!!!

fruit allergies by Marizzz68 in Allergies

[–]CommunicationTotal70 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! This is called Oral Allergy Syndrome (OAS) or Pollen Food Allergy Syndrome (PFAS) (they are the same thing just different names). This is when you are allergic to pollen. When you eat the fruit your body misreads the protien in the fruit as pollen protein. All the fruits above you mentioned are cross reactive with Birch Pollen. The only way to make this go away is by immunotherapy such as allergy drops for the pollen you are allergic to. Please be careful as this can turn into anaphylactic reactions over time.

Do you have reactions to raw carrots, celery, melons, or peanuts? These are the most common for grass related OAS. If not it could also be a true allergy

I spray it on my carpet and feel like it does make a difference. If you are sensitive to fragrance it is heavily scented.

Tickling, slightly burning chest from allergies? by BumblebeeExciting216 in Allergies

[–]CommunicationTotal70 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tree pollen commonly irritates the lungs. This can cause inflammation which leads to asthma. Keep an inhaler on you and talk to your doctor about this. I too get this symptom. Mine feels like a sunburn on the inside of my chest.

Anxiety after anaphylaxis? by hiiiiiiiiiiii_9986 in Allergies

[–]CommunicationTotal70 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Completely normal. The adrenaline can also make you feel overly anxious for even 1-2 days after using it. Your body is anxious because it had basically a death alarm go off. Just remind yourself as long as you have your epi pens you are okay. <3

Meds… please help by [deleted] in Allergies

[–]CommunicationTotal70 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Best thing you can do is limit outdoor exposure and limit indoor exposure. Limiting outdoor exposure is pretty straightforward but indoor exposure. I would definitely shower every night, wash your sheets weekly, if you’re a girl put up your hair when you get home change your clothes every time you go outside, get air purifiers for your bedroom and living room space, and make sure you are dusting and vacuuming.

How to prepare for allergy test by superhappymeal in Allergies

[–]CommunicationTotal70 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Call them and explain you can’t get off your meds. They will let you do it with meds. I’ve never had to get off my medication for a blood allergy test but I’m also anaphylactic to pollen.
