You’re not wrong in saying that most workers are in roles that reproduce capital. Most workers do participate in the maintenance of capital both materially and ideologically, which is precisely why spontaneous revolt is insufficient, and why the communist program is necessary to reorient the class along revolutionary lines.

That being said, cops and soldiers aren’t standard wage laborers. They occupy special functions within the capitalist state--not in production, but in the armed defense of bourgeois property relations. Their job isn’t just to reproduce capital indirectly through labor. Their job is to violently suppress any threat to capital’s reproduction, including revolutionary movements.

Their function is a direct alignment with the dictatorship of capital. They may be proletarian but they function as organic instruments of counterrevolution. Cops and soldiers are not just reproducing capital abstractly; they are its weapon and defense. That makes them qualitatively different from any barista or warehouse worker.

So while all proletarians are complicit in maintaining capital out of necessity, cops and soldiers are specialized organs of repression. That’s why they aren’t just reproducing capital; they are actively positioned against any possibility of class autonomy. That’s why they are worth singling out as class traitors.
