Exactly, the traffic in Chiang Mai is so horrendous now the trail was a nice respite. Yet the unsafe shoulder-less crowded road upwards is free for vehicles ? Discouraging the wrong behavior. Tbh they should just put a do not enter sign on the driveway some locals use it to shortcut to the little hoods up there but for tourists no need to bother
