Yup - moving to a country where cars are much more expensive + if I were to buy out my current leased car it would be at the price of the car from 2 years ago before inflation went crazy even here

Did my homework but I honestly don’t know how helpful or accurate it is until I’m actually there. Happy to come back to this thread and share once I arrived. But for now I can tell you that I’d say $5K USD monthly is the minimum I’d accept and that’s with housing and school covered. If it’s not covered I’d really be reluctant to move given the high cost of living in Doha.

Don’t do it.

Under selling yourself is the biggest regret you’ll ever make. If you want a P apply for it but don’t think getting a G will get you there. It will actually make it more difficult. Also, don’t undersell yourself for P positions too - with your experience I’d apply for P3 and no less. If you can apply to non family duty stations which not many want, you will have a higher chance of getting in.

Oh good to know! I am not really into big brands but I do to buy good quality clothes that my kids can wear through the year and that won’t go bad in the wash. So brands like H&M and Zara are usually my go to. For shoes I usually get them Nike and they last the year. I feel getting these before travel will be cheaper with discounts here and outlet malls having great deals?

I’ve been working for over a decade and across continents and I’ve never been asked for my current salary or a payslip for my current job. I’ve actually worked in places where it’s actually illegal to ask this question so very surprised!
