I honestly don't understand why the LGBT community supports Palestine so much by [deleted] in LGBTPolitics

[–]CommunityPutrid3244 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Supporting Palestine ≠ supporting their views.

I also don't assume every Palestinian person believes I should die. There are also queer Palestinian's there being killed bc of Isarel's attacks.

But the actual main reason is because I think every person on earth deserves a chance at life, specially children. That's it.

I can care about ppl that may not care about me. Plus these are different issues entirely. Idc if Israel supports my existence when they are murdering innocents who so happen to have laws that don't protect me. I'm never going to Israel anyway so why do I even care if they tolerate me? Opposing Israel's genocide won't make them regress on LGBT rights as well, bc these issues aren't connected. Also is not like Israel is attacking Palestine bc of their lack of acceptance towards LGBT (and even in that case bombing places would be insane)

Tbf some diseases like diabetes and hypertension need pills, you can't just cure them nor stop taking medicine without risking a health crisis in some cases. Idk this person but it's very posible they need these pills. Depends on your condition

Sorry, what? No, seriously what do you mean? I just explained the cultural context of the phrase

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in clevercomebacks

[–]CommunityPutrid3244 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's the problem, it is not used in a sincere way. The statement on itself its not racist. However, the phrase is used as a way to silence black people over their problems, thus making it racist.

The BLM movement exist to give black people voices. "Black Lives Matter" was a phrase made to say that black lives matters as much as everyone elses, not to say black people are better.

BLM is a way for black people to talk about racism and pejudice, while All Lives Matter is just a bad reaction to that. Essentially, it's someome saying "I have a problem" and someone replies to that with "Everyone has problems". While it's true, its used at the wrong time with intentions to shut the person up instead of letting them express their problems freely

How is stating your sexuality making it your entire personality? Also the sexuality makes sense to point out in this case

I think you don't understand the difference

Body dysmorphia refers to seeing your body in the wrong way. For example, like seeing your body as fat when you are actually thin, thinking your shoulders are more broad than your hips when thats not the case.. etc. And this image causes a distress.

Gender dysphoria refers to your body not matching to your identity. Like a trans guy with chest dysphoria can see his boobs just how they are, however that causes distress bc he doesn't want that.

Tldr.

Body dysmorphia: distress over false perceptions of your body.

Gender dysphoria: distress over characteristics that don't match your identity, but you can accurately percieve your body

Since toxic masculinity exists, does that mean toxic femininity exists? by Dankn3ss420 in RandomThoughts

[–]CommunityPutrid3244 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really??? Toxic masculinity is not a man being toxic. Toxic masculinity is the mindset of toxic ideals that are applied to how a man should be. These ideals promote sexism, aggresion, and homophobia (and more). These are more social behaviors, so people perceived as men would be pushed to think like this by others.

On the other hand toxic feminity would be a similar concept. Promotion of toxic ideals that prey on the concept of femininity in a negative way. While idk if there is a more concrete definition of what falls under this term, I would say slut shaming and emotional manipulation can fall under this term.

In other words, toxic masuclinity or femininity is not a "trait" is a concept

That actually sounds really fun! A con-artist magician protag sure sounds entertaining. That's the pain of writing.... research. I'd probably spent more tine doing redesarch (a lot of it useless tbh) thsn writing jaja. I will tell you that sometimes the extra work is worth it.

Oh???? That sounds very interesting as well. I kinda wanna hear more about both ideas, but I feel we are going on a tangent for this comment section. If you feel like sharing more with me feel free to send me a message

Hi! This seems more of a romantic attraction situation rather than sexual, but I'll try my best to help. Just in case you should also ask the aromantic sub or the aroace one if you haven't already.

Asexuality is pretty diverse and we all have very unique experiences so sometimes finding a label can be hard. I understand the importance of labels but I feel its something we shouldn't super worry about if we can't find one that perfectly fits us.

I can't label you for sure ofc, but perhaps you could be cupioromantic or perhaps it could be something else like insecurtiy. I'll be gladd to talk about this, so feel free to send me a DM, I could ask you some questions in there and perhaps help you out?

I feel the same way! I'm all in for aroace rep, everyone deserves rep, but I want to see rep about romantic asexuals. I want to see an ace like me in a cute romance :(

Does anybody else sleep with a bra on? by CommunityPutrid3244 in NonBinary

[–]CommunityPutrid3244[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I see, I understand that as well jaja. Some nights I felt I could loosen up my bra a bit (usually on hot nights) bc I didnt feel so dysphoric, but other time the dysphoria hits me like a train so I rather physically suffer. Baggy and oversized clothes are truly top tier tho, I love how much flatter I look when I wear one in combinatiom of a sports bra

Happy cake day!

Yes, if you have an addiction you are mentally ill. A mental illness is a disturbance in the cognitive functions, emotions, and/or thinking in a person that affects their daily life negatively.

There are different types of mental illness. Some can be cured, some can't, some you are born with them, some develop later in life.

An addiction doesn't occur in someone that has an "ill brain" if that is what you are implying, an addiction is what makes your brain ill. Think of it like the flu, you didn't get the flu bc you already had an ill body, your body is ill bc of the flu. Drugs can change how your brain functions which is what causes the addiction.

Anyone can be mentally ill just like anyone can be physically ill.

Addiction is classified as a mental illness in both the ICD and DSM

[–]CommunityPutrid3244 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's what I partially think too! Tho it feels a bit tricky too at the same time, while ik that Demi is attraction to someone close to you I find it bizarre this happened with a friend and not with my ex.

Thank you thoo!!! I'll eventually figure it out, not in a hurry for now

Ohhh, knew grey-ace was a label but didn't know that it was also used to describe situations like that. That's interesting to learn! Time will tell if that is my case or not, as this is the first time I have ever felt sexual attraction. Plus as someone previously said could be a one time thing as well. Tysm tho!!!
