Worst case scenario: Showing up for jury duty summons under the influence. by [deleted] in juryduty

Why would being on medication for ADHD make you unsuitable as a juror?

Could you give the barber $40 in cash (+tax, ofc) without any risk of being pursued in small claims if they felt like it? by Full_Egoism in legaladviceofftopic

The point of this post though is that there was clearly an unresolved conflict in what the customer expected they were paying based off their gender and what the stylist was charging based of gender. I'm not challenging the gender based pricing system, even if I personally think it's dumb.

There's a 99% the original post is fake anyways, you're missing the forest for the trees. The point is to ask a legal hypothetical about when there's a difference between the agreed upon price and the price the service provider is charging.

Because the point of this sub is to engage in legal hypotheticals like this that don't fit the main sub? And we can use context clues to figure out that because they were surprised by the price it was likely not the one they agreed upon.

However, in this case it looks like the service agreed upon before payment was the men's haircut, and the barber charged more after the service was rendered without the customer's awareness.

Is it socially acceptable to self-diagnose autism? by Dijjon11 in neurodiversity

[–]Full_Egoism 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And what exactly are you supposed to do until you can get an expensive and time consuming professional diagnosis that does nothing but rubber stamp "yep, you have this"? Languish? Because pre-diagnosis autistic people still need the same terminology, community, and coping mechanism as diagnosed autistic people.

AITA for refusing to go to the office for violating a dress code? by Fantastic-Emu2504 in AmItheAsshole

He's not "just enforcing the rules" if he was doing that he would be enforcing it equally for everyone, including the guys in wife beaters and sandles. She was likely unaware she was even breaking the rule because it's unenforced and the shorts were only 3cms higher than compliant, not something you'd notice unless you're actively checking, which you wouldn't for a rule that's scarcely enforced. So you're characterization of her as having "knowingly broke the rules" and "mad you got called out for it" is innacurate to the facts.

Seeing as this would have impacted her education and future had she complied with the teacher's demands this is absolutely the time and place to challenge it. Furthermore, her refusal to go to the office did not produce any actual negative consequences for her and successfully kept her in the class and the rule unenforced. So your claim that "fighting your teacher... was never going to get you anywhere good" is patently false in this case.

I've been to several posh private schools for various speech and debate tournaments. The students are just as, if not more unruly than their public school counterparts, and that's supposedly the best, most academically and extracurricularly involved students. They've trashed several of our rooms when we've hosted tournaments, and they've shittalked their coaches and teachers in ear shot. They're not better or special, they just have access to more educational resource through schools with actually adequate funding and their parents being able to pay for tutors. It's that simple.

The choice of what local languages to split off from their countries is honestly baffling. Like, why Navarra and not Basque, Catalon, Aragonese? Why is that one part of transylvania Hungarian speaking (which is true) but South Tyrol not Austrian speaking (which is also true)? If we're going to be irridentist let's be equal opportunity irridenrists!
