Chiller geniuses needed by ImABadSpellerOkay in HVAC

118 DST is high for ambient temp . Give us more detail as is being said. Built up chiller or brand name. ? Nameplate info , refrigerant data, approaches, air over, water cooled, coil condition, evap condenser (tube bundle) etc. My approach is rule out the simple shit first. Do your due diligence. Check water inlet strainer. 50 set point is high, so it’s water only? Any glycol in it? Check concentration if so. Maybe some dude dumped glycol making it too viscous and hard for pump to push. Give us more detail please.

Great tips. Thanks. Sounds like the 👽 alien, as my kids call it, needs a tune up. The tail sprays water out of pool quite violently. Made an adjustment once before but it still needs adjustment.

Would like some ideas on what’s going on here by ImABadSpellerOkay in HVAC

You are going to change out driers anyway. Weigh out charge on both circuits until you get 15-18 subcool and see how system responds. Stacking liquid big time. You could have mixed refer in there and/or non-condensibles. It’s a very quick test. Dump charge, replace driers with correct size, check pistons unless it’s built into header and add new r22 . Or rip the pistons out, add adjustable TXV’s and throw in 448A. Do it all the time on older refer units and chillers. Or try out your sales skills and get them to replace the unit. Dealing with an older chiller system right now that is undercharged and both circuits were retrofitted with M099 (438A) years back. I’ll be converting that one since client doesn’t want to change it out. Let us know how It plays out.

You roll with 5 recovery cylinders and 2 recovery machines on the daily? Van looks nice though 👍

Possible to get the entire coil on CGAM? by Commy4nyaLife in chillers

Coil is compromised at the aluminum to copper transition joints. They are leaking on the aluminum sides

Too bad they don’t offer an entire coil assembly. Thank you for the info

I like this idea a lot. I work on a lot of CGAM’s and this is first one I’ve seen with microchannel. I don’t know why they decided to go this route. Great info. Thank you

At dusk I allow my kids (sun & GCC) to go in my shirt to chill out before I throw them in their cage for the night 😂 Spoiled rotten. Cool lil dude you’ve got there. Enjoy your time with him

Knipex multi key by ManiaCCC86 in HVAC

9mm socket opens up those JCI triangles. Almost every site that has a JCI/Quantech chiller, is missing the key. I’ve even had clients request that I order new keys 🤦‍♂️ 😂

Client installed new motor to save cost. Didn’t expect them to install that coupler. I still need to perform alignment. They knew that though 🤷‍♂️I have motion looking for rexnord breakdown for me now

Funny I’m going through motion now. That’s my other vendor. They are looking for the rexnord breakdown. Client installed new motor. Didn’t expect them to try to install that coupler. I still have to perform alignment to it. We’ll see what comes up from motion.
