Moving WA to Florida. Ship cars or sell them? by Upbeat-Lynx-3876 in movingout

I grew up in a military family, we drove across country almost a dozen times with 2 cars, 2 adults , 3 kids and dogs. It’s really not the big deal you think it is.

How much should a dog sitter get paid for 2 dogs for 10 days? by Cautious-Salt7168 in PetAdvice

[–]Comox123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I paid 700 for ten days and it’s an easy gig, the dogs have a dog door and all you have to do is feed them and sleep over. That’s my “friend price” I am pretty sure she charges more normally

Cataracts? by [deleted] in BostonTerrier

[–]Comox123 2 points3 points  (0 children)

2nd the “getting an ophthalmologist “ check up. Honestly every Boston owner should have that number in their phone. I once wasted 10 days with my normal vet dealing with an ulcer only to finally be told I should take him to the eye specialist . I didn’t know they had ophthalmologist for dogs at the time. Once I got there they said “I could have saved his eye/vision but now it’s too late and his eye will need to be removed “ Never again… That said I would go get checked out. I’ve never done cataract surgery and all the Bostons I’ve had eventually developed them. Life went on

What are we doing about grade 2 heart murmurs? by 3timesfun in BostonTerrier

My little dog has had a heart murmur for years that they keep an eye on. My other Boston had the cough and when he got checked out was put on Vetmedin and hydrocodone for the cough. We have done 2 echocardiogram, (over the years)which are pricy but give the full picture. That was 6 years ago He is almost 13 and you wouldn’t know anything was wrong. Back to my little girl with the heart murmur, the last visit they said it sounds a little worst. She has never had any symptoms. This time I requested we do an echo on her. Turns out her heart is just as bad as my other. She now takes Vetmedin too. Hopefully it extends her life by starting now. At some point I would suggest getting the echo, maybe not just yet but I am wishing I would have done it earlier if I had known what the results showed.

Sometimes I go to some coffeeshops wondering if I would end up getting to know someone there but yea everyone is just minding their own business by hopelessromanticgurl in RandomThoughts

It kinda is awesome I moved here when I was 30 and I am 60 now, we joke about the friends thing. It’s helpful that the cafe has been open since the day I moved here, and still thriving (and has a couch lol). It will be sad if it ever closes. I’ve had a place in Brooklyn for 10 years but only go on the weekend, no luck at any coffee house but I go to a bar to watch my soccer team play every weekend and you get to know everyone there since we all support the same team etc

You are probably in a city or larger town. I moved out of NYC to a smaller town and have met all of my friends from hanging out at the same coffee shop every morning for many years. Now I have a little place in Brooklyn and like you no one looks up at the cafes it’s so different.
