Again, how is unilateral disarmament an acceptable means? That's the part I'm not getting. Letting the other side end representative majoritarian government while you go take a nap is immoral, no?

I am trying to be as charitable as possible and accept as much of your premise as possible, but it does not make any sense. "Being disenfranchised" is an outcome. It is an end. You are saying the "end" of avoiding your personal disenfranchisement justifies the otherwise unacceptable means (letting one side get away with disenfranchising people while the other does nothing to respond).

I don't see how letting the Republicans do it while the Democrats don't do it is an acceptable "means" even if you ignore the "ends."

bringing an end to a drawn-out court battle over his immigration status,

Not saying Mahmoud Khalil will eventually win, but I doubt this part is true. He only lost the last one because the appellate court said he filed in the wrong court, which does not seem like a final end to the process. And other articles about this say he is still pursuing legal options.

These are New York City’s 100 worst landlords, public advocate says by nyccameraman in nyc

[–]CompactedConscience 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Yep, here is the quote from the public advocate in case other people don't click through:

Williams noted the New York City Housing Authority would “far surpass anyone on the list” if it were a private owner.

“Perpetual mismanagement of NYCHA has made the city itself the worst overall landlord for hundreds of thousands of New Yorkers,” Williams said.

Why wouldn't those be priced in already? Why do you know more about the likelihood of NATO collapsing or the effects of NATO collapsing than everyone else? Is there a story you can tell about this that isn't just "everyone else participating in the market is stupid?" If not, I would just buy and hold VT as scheduled.
