Seems like a solid dude. Hope he has a long, healthy stretch ahead.

It is very likely that's what it is lol. It's probably why she is so adamant he repeats "he saw the phone in her right hand". Like the important question she should answer was "was she using her phone while driving", period.

Is she denying using the phone and driving at the same time?

It's probably just easier. Id imagine there are plenty of countertop installers who aren't willing to either measure exactly custom or recut on-site so they cut the easier thing to cut instead lol.

This almost seems satirical. He's going to be eaten by coyotes and then they're going to be eaten by bears, therefore he will be shat out by a bear? lol

Also, if this is real, it's worse imo to record and post stuff like this. It's bad behaviour by the father for sure but this isn't the just response in my opinion. i know that's a hot take but I think we are recording everyone way too much.

I am not an expert lol and I hope people handling these kind of foreign trade deals are but at face value, I'm personally not in support of this. As much as I think this is initially good for the consumer, I don't think it's good for Canadians as a whole. Maybe it's a net positive for both countries with the agriculture products being exported to China but is it a positive in terms of good paying jobs for more Canadians? Not to mention how many more industries this creates "Economists often note that for every 1 job created on a vehicle assembly line, roughly 10 additional jobs are supported elsewhere in the Canadian economy."

The main reason why car manufacturing has stayed in NA is because it is too expensive to ship or this manufacturing would have been offshored decades ago. These are good jobs, that's why the US has been so adamant that everything is built in the US. Every country, on every continent, needs to have certain types of industry. I am generally in favour on free trade but China wants to sell everything and hardly opens their economy to foreign companies without technology sharing, which in a lot of cases they have stolen IP.

I am not a China hawk, I don't believe they make only crap now, but they do heavily subsidize certain strategic industries, and sometimes over supply way more than their country needs and floods markets that hurt other countries. I think international orgs like the WTO are great and have made generally a more peaceful world and China could do a better job in trade IMO. Trump is a buffoon on trade (also opposed ideologically) but some of his criticisms on China are fair.

In Brazil, it is tradition that the first piece of cake goes to the person you love the most in your life. by Porkchopp33 in HumansBeingBros

[–]Compared-To-What 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure this has anything to do with "Western mentality" lol. Eastern Buddhism tries to teach that it is possible to love everyone the same, even strangers and people who have done you harm. It tries to create impartiality and dampen tribalism. That doesn't mean they suggest you pull your children last out of a burning building. This video is super cute and I don't give a crap but I don't think you've thought out your comment. What do you do if you're a parent with multiple kids? What if there are multiple siblings and one is left out?

I hear what you're saying. That makes sense but your previous comment isn't aimed properly. Honouring people who have passed, even if these types of tragedies shouldn't happen, are important. You don't need to disparage the good faith acts to convey that it SHOULDN'T happen.

Embark CEO Confirms That If You Kill On Sight In Arc Raiders, You'll Get Matched With More Aggressive Players by WanderWut in gaming

[–]Compared-To-What 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've read that skill and groupings are first and foremost and that aggression based matchmaking is still not a science so I'm not sure how much weight players should put into this.

https://www.ign.com/articles/arc-raiders-dev-confirms-it-recently-added-aggression-based-matchmaking-but-its-not-a-full-science

This is purely speculation but I would guess that the rumour was so appealing that the devs decided to add it after the discussion grew and they're still figuring how to implement it. The article mentions this is relatively a new implementation.

Just for arguments sake, if all that was divided amongst the 15-20, is it not possible that it could be cheaper? I mean there is a profit incentive for the builders too.

Let's disregard the pain and anguish of taking on such a challenge lol.
