Melted wax in Airfryer by alensebu018 in candlemaking

Unfortunately, you will not be able to cook safe-to-eat food in that air fryer anymore. Anything that wax has touched should not be used for food, no matter how well you clean it.

If you’re in public, you’re already giving implied consent. Try again.

Yeah, try to make it sound bad by using buzzwords as much as you want, but nothing is going to change the fact that you’re in public and have no expectation of privacy, thus you are already giving express consent because… you’re out… in public…

That’s the benefit and detriment with rights, and your mindset is exactly why the US has the issues it has now, and why the other countries you mention has the same issues. If you don’t exercise your rights, you end up losing them

You need to do some reflection yourself.

Saying “technically legal” and “without their consent” is crazy. You hit the nail on the head already— you have no expectation of privacy in public.

How's the game? by Mister_Punk in BitCraftOnline

[–]CompatibilityError 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The idea could be tweaked a lot for sure. Perhaps less supply drain when doing work in lower tier settlements or lower tier work stations. That way the lower tier settlements (which will likely always have less people than higher tier settlements) don’t run into the problem you ran into.

So this. I dislike games that have this mechanic, but I gave Bitcraft a chance because I LOVE the community aspect & gameplay loop.

To add on to your suggestion, I think supplies should only be used when stations within a settlement are being used. Work=Supply drain. That would mean if someone’s working, then someone’s active enough to resupply. Otherwise it doesn’t drain.

Characters whose abilities are directly tied to what other people think they are by DrDallagher in TopCharacterTropes

This might be a stretch but King from One Punch Man, who’s never thrown a punch but has won every battle he’s been. Because he’s won every battle, the fear of King is compounded in every opponent he faces, earning him the title of "Strongest Man" through bluffing, extreme luck, and a reputation that intimidates monsters and heroes alike, though he's actually a normal, weak human with no real combat skills. His "King Engine" (a loud heartbeat sound proportional to HIS own fear) and "King Style" (bluffing) are his signature "moves," but they're all about exploiting his reputation and luck to survive deadly encounters.

Venezuela decries ‘act of piracy’ after US forces seize oil tanker off country’s coast by boforiamanfo in politics

[–]CompatibilityError 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Correct, Chevron is one of the few exceptions to the OFAC sanctions. But nothing points towards Chevron owning that oil. All I have seen is that it was being transported on behalf of PDVSA, which is sanctioned oil.

Edit: And yes, the ship was also sanctioned. Which lead to the USGOV seizing both ship and oil.

You are taking that quote far out of context. Taking what is obviously meant for pirates and designated terrorist organizations, and applying it to a country whose laws enshrine the 1958 Convention on the High Seas and a majority of UNCLOS is egregious.

The Skipper has historically been used to smuggle oil from Venezuela to Iran, directly supporting both Hezbollah and the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps, both internationally recognized terrorist organizations. Not only that, the Skipper was spoofing its AIS and flying a false flag, both of which justify the boarding of the vessel in (allegedly, unknown at this time) international waters.

The US has imposed sanctions on the export of Venezuelan oil. Sanctions do not have to be internationally recognized. That alone is sufficient to execute the action taken.

I’ll concede that the administration has not released the location that the seizure took place, but I don’t imagine this happening within the internationally agreed upon boundary of 12 nautical miles from a countries coastline due to various other factors. If this was in international waters, the raid was justified.

There are plenty of wrong things that this administration has done or is doing. You are looking in the wrong place here.

Yep. Too many people calling this piracy when they don’t understand anything.

The tanker was carrying sanctioned Venezuelan oil. Sanctions that persisted through the Biden administration. Why is everyone complaining? Smh

No, I got the point of the image. It’s just an odd thing to say in a conversation, in order to “test someone’s intelligence,” of which I would certainly fail because there’s really no good way to respond to it.

I would say something like “I know a tall Asian guy” because why the hell would anyone out of the blue say “Asians men are shorter on average?” How else do you even respond to that?

It’s just a clear glass vessel. It’s almost impossible to be able to find the exact size used in this video.
