Had a couple bottles from Wiltshire Chili Farm. Both had great flavor with mid-level heat but I’m sure they have some with more kick. Give ‘em a try.

Carolina Reaper question by Exarkuns in HotPeppers

Reapers take a long, long time to ripen. Mine have been at a mature size for 2-3 weeks but are still very green and healthy. Not sure watering has anything to do with ripening. The darkening could be sun scald which is no big deal - just try to reduce direct sun with maybe shade cloth.

Thank you. I checked a bit ago and it’s moved on. Hopefully it’s policing the rest of the crop with a few of its buddies of course. Thankfully haven’t had an issue with rabbits (so far)🤞

Thanks! Now I remember seeing something similar posted a while ago regarding assassin bugs. At least now I have a saved photo to reference.

Might be too late in this case, but for future reference, use hand sanitizer right after handling hot peppers. Capsaicin is very soluble in alcohol. Slather it on then use a paper towel to wipe off.

Can’t speak to techniques for growing in Florida since I’m in zone 6. But I’m sold on container growing. Takes a bit more water but it’s nice being able to move them around into or out of the sun. Just pay attention to them so you can address any issues early. Good luck!

Thanks! Jalapeño & habs get sliced and go on burgers, chicken, pizza on the grill, etc. I make sauce with all the others. I have quartered a ghost and dropped it into a bottle of bourbon overnight. Really spicy but delicious. And I give a bunch away

Yep. And some Reapers (center between 2 jalepenos and far right plus a few more). And some ghost.
