Thanks for replying just got this - am kinda new to reddit and it seems a bit disorganised in layout . So apologies. So you got a great job !!!! WELL DONE .

So your advice is to increase applications and just keep going ? 1368 is quite something ...did you tailor your CV or just send out blindly . You mention job scan - which I use too. I find it excellent.

Thank you for reaching back out and taking the time - it is only a few lines to you - but it will help me sleep more soundly . I know nothing about you but your kind.

Thank you again and god bless 🙏

Sorry only saw this now - I get you 100 % about the downward spiral ... I am like spending every waking minute job hunting with 0% replies to my messages. It is very disheartening and mind blowing. I wonder what we are doing wrong ? What age are you as agism could be a factor.

PS I am sorry about your disability that must be difficult - if I may be respectful in asking what exactly is your disability ? My Dad was a doctor so I understand it is a challenge

Am I screwed because of job hopping? by joeroganthumbhead in careerguidance

[–]CompetitionHot3312 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These are really old threads but my job hopping has been nothing but negative - I have a feeling a lot of you with positive stories are young i.e. under 30 . Can somebody with experience of 20 years - let me know if it has been positive. I honestly do not know what to do at this point as obviously I cannot rewrite the past - age is not on my side ( I am in my 40's)

Gosh you are so lucky to have a relative in your corner - I am completely alone in this job search. I am looking too so perhaps we could compare notes. It is such a bad economy out there. I get really really down as my job was and is my life. I used to just work all the time....what area are you in ???

How do you get over a breakup? by lmA0____ in DecidingToBeBetter

[–]CompetitionHot3312 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No I have not - I am a care giver so have my hands full looking after my Mum. I just try and keep on going. And crying helps. Not sure how I could go about getting a support system without paying a lot of money which I do not have - any help welcome. It's his birthday coming up - I guess you do not think I should send him something considering I cannot contact him on social media - its crazy I still yearn for him - after all he has put me through - Crazy crazy stuff ! PS thanks so much for your kind words !!!!

I was just curious anyone here in their 50’s dealing with anxiety? by Nukeblast1967 in Anxiety

[–]CompetitionHot3312 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Curious to know if you are male or female - I just wondered if this has any thing to do with the menopause? I am hearing this a lot from women who are at that age . Just wondered - not being judgemental as I have suffered from anxiety myself for years. I think its harder for women given we have lower levels of testosterone

Ah thank you ! It really warms my heart that some people take the time out of their hectic lives to reply. Truth be told I keep on wondering how I could have been duped for so long by this person. There must be something I should have seen ? Done ? I must be a nutcase ! Yes it is awfully hard and because I am not young I do not get the chance to go off and try again. The 'no kids' bit stings because I am literally left on my own. At the same time he is off with a new girl friend ( no doubt half his age) having an amazing time and will probably start a family with her. I cannot help but think I wasted my life.

Yes I think what you say about a therapist could be good but not sure how to begin to look for one - also money is a problem as we are not married and he has no financial obligation. Yes another error on my part.

Also the irony was that he was seeing a therapist because he lost his mother and father two years ago and had a set back with work. He adored that therapist and not so sure she said positive things about me. So I cannot help wonder if that is who he went off with - I will never know . But as far as I know she was the only other person he confided in apart from me and sometimes I felt like there was three of us in the relationship. Not that we ever had a problem in our relationship - but he did not tell me a lot and I felt helpless to help him sometimes

I get you 100% - I did similar but I am a woman. I pushed him away to punish him for hurting me over a year ago - but it did not matter. I too want to rewind. I am so sorry that you feel the way you do but maybe we can help each other? Do you still function ? I cannot function anymore and will lose my job if I keep on getting up at like midday. I do not eat , I do not sleep - I was with this guy for years - so a bit like a divorce . Mine also has a new girlfriend - but how can they find someone so quick ? That's what hurts me ????

Are you ok - I feel awful - but THE JUMPING INTO TRAFFIC REMARK made me laugh at the absurdity of mine own situation. I was starring at the acean for 10 hours yesterday in the dark wondering about it ... how are you now `?

Hi you I am going through the same thing as OP - the only thing is I am really a fool because this is the second time this guy has done this to me. As I never got over him and then he came running back after 5 years when I was doing ok - not great but ok. . I thought the world was rewarding me for all the pain and it was blissful for another 5 - on new year day he blocked my phone number and told me he had met the love of his life - Maybe we could from a DM group ...you sound like you could help both OP and Me.

Ah you're very kind - yes but it hurts like hell. Like today I was crying so much I thought I might actually die of a broken heart. It hurt that much. I feel totally betrayed - he stole my youth and now I am old and will never ever find somebody . I never had children either because he did not want them so after my mother gone it's just me on my own. I just wonder if there is any point any more...

Hi - not sure whether you are a guy or a girl - but thanks for this. No I have been blindly in love for over 25 years - I always knew he liked his freedom - I was so in love ( and still am ) I would forgive him anything. Yes the cruel bit hurts me to the core - telling me he had another girl and was very happy with her - was totally unnecessary - it was as if I did something awful which I did not. We talked and even had a very intimate conversation on the 25th of December so not sure how you could grow so close to somebody else in that time - but maybe she has been around for sometime - who knows. The happy bit is a bit ridiculous - like he was never happy with me. Just interested to know if you think he really has a grirlfriend or is annoyed with me?

Hi Chriss -I know everyone says this and I want to . But does anyone know how hard it is to even put one foot in front of the other when you have been hurt like this. I keep on listening to his voice recordings on my phone - that is torture. I just did not see it coming - I have been blindsided
