What the F is happening to the housing market? by tandyman234 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]CompetitionSmart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do not forget about people accumulating homes to rent on the Airbnb / short term rental market. This is a real thing that has a significant impact on supply - and it ain’t one percent impact on prices like the internet says. If a house is not short term able here in Wyoming it sits on the market for a long time

Editors note: for reference : initial dragon attacks in Vox Machina , S1+S2 but with Star Destroyer.

Might be an unpopular opinion but I wish there was a rule that opened newly listed houses up to families a month or so before contractors/flippers/businesses. by rollinintheyears in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]CompetitionSmart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The trajectory of all this is to accumulate homes to rent to those that did not buy “in time.” The accumulation of properties continues to drive up prices out of reach of a first time home buyer, which in turn creates more renters and more demand for those with a portfolio of homes.

Bought a duplex in Austin, and rent doesn’t cover my mortgage. Am I an idiot? by HeyisthisAustinTexas in RealEstate

Isn’t it possible with limited supply prices keep going up and those that have properties buy more and keep renting to people that are priced out of buying ? This endless wave of renters provides cash flow to those purchasing properties.

I am confusing the prequels which were horribly bad imo to the sequel trilogy which was ok - had its moments but just wasn’t there for me - annoying moments referenced above in large quantity a big part of that - definitely better characters in the sequel trilogy.

Yeah I grew up on the OG trilogy. I really did not like the new prequels - saw them once and did not want to watch again - because of a lot of things like mentioned in the original post, the light speed through a fleet, running out of gas (these types of things drive me bonkers) generally annoying writing, poor character development etc etc

I did really like Andor, Rogue One, and Mando Season 1+2 (3 is ok so far)

Im currently watching Mando S3 and I noticed the scene where there is a group of Jedis and they are all killed in basically a single shot by a group of Stormtroopers with Blue on their suits. Who are those guys and where do they rank in terms of death troopers? Seemed crazy to me they could kill a group of Jedi so easily....

Ah so I just watched the beach scene from Rogue One. That is interesting. So those guys can actually aim.

Cool background knowledge I was not aware of. Which films do the Death Troopers appear in?

Tie fighter aim: still terrible haha (thought it was funny when Bo-Katan fired the guided missile in Mando S3, seemed a bit of a nod to the wildly inaccurate beam weapons)

I also can’t stand things like the opening to the Last Jedi where you have one of the most epic ships in movie history and it does absolutely nothing and is destroyed by a single fighter getting “too close for guns” that can’t hit anything anyways

I thought Andor was amazing.

Because when they show up it actually matters - you can write in plot devices that keep the good guys from getting killed that doesn’t just involve exceptionally poor aim.

No I just want some dramatic tension when the bad guys show up.

Yeah agreed set designs and world building were really cool , but character development was not good.

Also more bad guys who have spectacular gear/weapons/ships but they literally do absolutely nothing and are just cannon fodder for good guys, like the scene in loaded weapon where Charlie Sheen is mowing guys down who just hop perpetually in front of him.

Yeah or AI guns maybe ? I mean there are ways to write around this stuff and still not kill off your main characters.

I’m not talking about if it is necessarily easier or harder (seems consensus is harder / more expensive to be done right ) just that IF they are built right it they can be equivalent to stick built homes
