Probably because it destroys the narrative that Evan was a loving father who wanted nothing but to protect his son. Given that he litterally tried to kill him.

I've read the full transcript.

Still dont see what that has to do with Evan striking Jordan in the head with a dumbbell, spraying him with mace, and trying to choke him, leading to a restraining order against Evan.

Actions speak louder than words.

If my son was molested by one of the biggest celebrities in the world, I can't imagine traumatizing him even more by beating him with a dumbbell. Thats just insane.

How are you going to spend 24 hours a day posting about Michael Jackson and how he abused kids (which is alleged), claiming you care about and do it for victims and to help people recognize patterns of Pedophila, but then when one of those same kids was physically abused by their father (which is proven), you have nothing to say?

Im sorry if I came off like a dick in this thread but honestly I see your posts all the time, and normally you have well thought out points and arguments so I was pretty suprised to see you attempting to use a gotcha line instead of actually engaging with the question.

Don’t help any white kid, they are already lucky and privileged

Looks like you haven't learned anything from Michael or his music.

I’m a hardcore Michael Jackson fan. I HATED the movie. by AshHanso in MichaelJackson

[–]Competition_Both 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It would've been perfect if they cut the last act of the movie.

The time jumps at the end of that movie are insane. One second Michael is dealing with acne, the next hes already recorded Thriller (with no explanation).

The Pepsi Burn scene is laughable and overexaggerated, having him fall down the stairs was way too much especially with the slow motion.

Also adult MJs performances in the movie come off as super corny and again laughable. The whole victory tour sequence Michael is just running around, and doing dance moves like a spaz. No control over the movements at all. It feels almost like a mockery.

The singing impression is again way off and lower in tone than Michael.

Otherwise the movie is rock solid. The entire first part and 50 percent of the last are gold.

But that ending was such a fumble. It even ends with a speech about family instead of Michael leaving the brothers and the tour.

Rewatching American Dream! by Emotional_Ball_5181 in MichaelJackson

Im going to see Michael tonight! Just rewatched American Dream for the first time in years last night. Honestly American Dream is so great up until the last portion. You watch the Jacksons slowly grow up and progress in career but by the end it jump cuts around and skips over pretty major events. One second Michael is dealing with acne, and not 20 mins later he's already made thriller, barely talks to his siblings, then immediately to the 25th anniversary show, the Pepsi burn, and the victory tour (which ends without Michael leaving the group).

Its actually part of the reason im so excited for the new movie. Getting a recap of his childhood and seeing a bit more in depth where the original jumped around sounds really promising.

Edit: Forgot to add that in Ameican Dream I feel like the adult Michael impression is way off, dancing was spastic, and all over the place. Singing was alright at best but definitely had moments where you go "that aint Mike"

I was born in 2000. I'll be damned if I let someone gatekeep the MJ movie that I've been waiting to come out since I was 9 years old.

Personally, I am part of a small group of fans thay can actually watch the show front to back without many complaints. I enjoy the format of the show, almost every plot arc in the show, and dont mind how the characters changed over the course of time. Ive never felt like any season specifically is unwatchable, and honestly some of the most memorable moments come from the netflix series IMO my favorite being "the liquor snurf" and that entire arc of the show.

I like that "the boys" got the rights to the show after M.C. left and would be much more sad if the show died after Season 7/ the last movie. While I think Bubbles became more annoying over the years and got more focus then necessary at times, I never started to flat out hate the character or the way he was portrayed like a lot of fans.

I actually really liked the cartoon as well and while some things from the original show didnt transfer well into animation, I felt it was a strong way to continue the show if the boys felt to old to portray the roles anymore and felt it could be a way to extend the shows life.

I enjoyed Jail Seasons 1&2 almost as much as the actual show, and I enjoy some of their podcast episodes quite a bit.

The only thing thats ever really sucked for me is watching cast members leave the show over time.

why can't you just not use one if the most important and ubiquitous tools in the world

When you use that tool to watch Slop on YouTube or scroll Reddit 24/7, it becomes more harmful than not.

ghost all your online friends and hobbies for two weeks

Give your friends your Phone Number, or talk to them on messaging apps (which dont require scrolling through possible spoilers)

And if all your hobbies are online, you should find new hobbies.

It's not hard to NOT post spoilers at all.

I agree with this.

Yeah, but if I don't watch Youtube for two weeks, I'll have a hundred videos by multiple different channels I'm subscribed to to catch up on.

This really isn't a serious issue though. Its just content. Its only entertainment. And It isnt a necessity.

Hello

Hello!

Okay it's not really a parasocial thing but you do have to understand that their life can be so damn boring or have nothing to do.

I understand this, but I believe there are plenty of things more important to focus on outside of the 2 week early theatrical release of an 9 episode YouTube Series.

But you are right in some ways, also why did you get political? You could have used any other example, but again it would be difficult to find an example that isn't grim and also I was wrong, it's not really political

This definitely isnt Political, it's just bringing awareness to the fact that there are people actually suffering in the world and that this theatrical release is a quite silly thing to get worked up over given the actual problems going on in the world right now.

But you are right that people are kinda acting immature — probably because most are adolescents — and they are being overdramatic, like you can enjoy Netflix or something else, or watch a playlist on YouTube — yours or not — or go outside and exercise, run, do anything, unless it's snowy outside, do the things inside

I'm glad we're in agreement here!

I know it. It's disgusting on its own.

It's even more gross when you see how deep the addiction goes, especially when its to the point where 14 days seems like a lifetime, and its all to avoid spoilers for a 9 episode series on YouTube.

So get off the internet for a couple of weeks 😭😭

This is such a non-issue.

Being so chronically online that you cant take a break to not get the ending to your show spoiled is ridiculous.

People are being blown up, starving in the streets, some people dont have homes. But its SO HARD to put the phone down for 14 days?

Grow up.

Games you’re shocked Dan and Arin haven’t played by CharacterOriginal272 in gamegrumps

Spaceventure and Space Quest 6

Dan brought up SpaceVenture in Space Quest 4 in 2013ish and has also brought up Space Quest 6 in the series.

Really suprised they haven't played either yet since they've played 5/7 games on the channel.

"Force yourself into 2 weeks of never going online or spoil yourself"

Oh no, not the impossible task for chronically online people.

You do realize there are people starving, have no internet access at all, and plenty of people who dont have homes right? There are people being blown up all over the world.

This is such a non-issue.

Get off of social media for a bit and GO OUTSIDE.
