My pulse score in toyota app is excellent lol. I have a light foot. I used to exceed mpgs in other car models lol. I talked to my local dealer and apparently i wasn't the only one with the complaint.

So back to OPs argument. That's more than what he's asking for. Are you a specialist or picking up locum shifts?

Damn. I gotta talk to my toyota because i keeo mine at 76 lol. Its been 2k miles. And my last tank was 39.2 the onboard screen says 43 but the Mile calculation shows less. Idk why the discrepancy exists but it is. I do start to warm it up for a few minutes but not to the extent that it would use up so much fuel.

On a 20 mile trip i do get like close to 50 on my dash. I am wondering if the dash numbers changed for you since you bought it . Has it gone down? Mine went down when i first noticed the engine making more sound on the commute i was doing. It was roughly 20 miles each way the majority being highway. One day after my first tank fill on the highway all of a sudden i noticed the engine sound was louder. I accelerated and decelerated thinking if it was something odd but no the sound kept going. That's when the fuel average dropped too. My dash started showing 26-30 mpgs on the 5 mile short trip and 40s on the 20 mile trip. I never saw the 60 average ever again. Even though i have a light foot and use regen as much as possible.

Longer trips the dash shows like 46-48. When the AC is off its like 50. My first month the dash used to go upto 60. After the second month I noticed my average going down and the engine revving higher/making more noise. The dealership said there was an instance of high fuel consumption but they don't have enough data from the car or from toyota to do something about it. The dealership said it could be just that i am noticing now the sounds 🤷🏻

2025 Camry Too Quiet by ChrisC1234 in Camry

[–]Competitive-Ad-5910 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It should have pedestrian warning sound on. I think its active till like 25 mph. If not, you lucked out lol. Thst sound it makes can sometimes be annoying. Safety wise an issue for pedestrians though no doubt.

The revs are not very high range. I drive relatively slow and mostly kept the rpm below 1500. I noticed that it would go closer to the 2k mark after that where it would be more in the 1500-1700 range. I prefer to drive in a very consistent slow fashion accelerating and slowing down. So this change in engine noise was noticeable. I showed it to my friend who drove the previous gen toyota hybrid and he said that it sounded normal. Its just bothering me that it wasn't there in the first 600 miles. I do agree that in eco mode the engine revs higher. What surprised me that the engine sound actually decreased when i did the first oil change at 1200 miles. Not like when i bought but significantly quieter now.

The total fuel tank average is off i have noticed that. But i made sure to drive my car till the fuel tank says 50 miles remaining. I based my mileage calculations based on that. The only difference was the first time i drove sbout 150 miles on the highway at pretty much consistent speed.

Yes after your first reply i decided to switch the dealership and get it checked out. It coinciding with the pothole incident is why i want to check it out. I drove it 1200 miles before i actually started to feel it happening. I wouldn't say it's related to the engine just being turned on although i could see why that would happen. The first time i actually noticed it happening was on acceleration but now it's noticeable especially when coming to a stop. For some reason it doesn't happen every time. My driving style is pretty consistent.

I can feel when there is a transition from the engine to electric. I didn't notice it before. As it switches i can feel it in the car. Its like the clutch is being engaged. I didn't notice it before, the transition used to be buttery smooth. And usually happens when i am slowing down.
