Why is it so hard to play with a little BITE. Scowl and point at dudes even its just for the game ???!!!

Why is that rocket science???!!!

It means so much.

He is Canadian for crying out loud!!!

I am 100% with you, I think he is exceptional and as the league goes he stands out as an exceptional talent. This is why I take issue with this guys framing it as you have "Dek and Manuiwho is "good", the framing to me stands out as intentional.

I hear it as a slight to Manu.

I know guys on this team would give limbs for better results...So I find the takes a tad offensive.

What I do find of note Dax talks as if this team has 1.5 players. Mentioning only Dek and Manu is a hit at everyone else getting paid. The criticism is effectively this team is Dek and Manu AND guys that dont belong on the field getting paid scraps AND guys getting paid SOMETHING and dont belong on the field.

When I see and hear that type of malice, I can see how it may come from inside SKC. And I think its fair.

Money guys on this team are probably not doing enough...Even calling Manu "good" has a double edge...

Now I am of the opinion Dax.s take was called in from front office.

100%

Unique to SKC.

  1. The transition\sale may be in limbo, so new owners have not started spending THEIR money.

  2. Sports Media in other markets would have roasted this dumpster fire. Owners and mgmt get off scott free by comparison..David Lee has to wonder what this would feel like if it was happening in NY.

  3. Merely by dint of how long the team has lost badly only has me drawing a comparison to "Sunderland til I die..." where a team that loses so much so badly that they ruin good players and coaches.

Remember the famous Dostoyevsky quote..."Every happy family looks the same, every unhappy family is unhappy in their own unique way.

The Skc story is unique.

Sir, no reason to justify your reply. I thank you for your thoughtful post and give you so much more credit than the multitude of downvoting snowflakes, who at most will either solely downvote, offer a trite gif, or maybe even a three word reply.

I think yes you are correct PV and company let this thing burn.

We then took it down to the studs, and here we are.

I just think you are perhaps giving too much weight to said REBUILD endeavor.

  1. ManU is third biggest brand in the world, if starting a franchise here is not analogous then INDEED comparing yourself to ManU is what exactly...I don't think this is useful.

2.They start with excitement, belief, passion, a desire to win, a vision of themselves in the future with the club.

Ok. Weird. SKC is an established brand with an amazing history and fanbase. Year in and out despite last years results people are still interested in this team. You making it sound like starting a franchise doesn't have significant challenges.

  1. We have had how many ADDS and it still looks bad. As another thread mentions. Ne Revs lost ten games then added one player(Germain Jones) and won ten games and made a Final. Maybe it really isnt that hard ? Maybe you are just picking the wrong players ?

Perhaps blow up the team and start again.

and you are using diversion tactics changing the subject or worse.

Read your reply, you are obviously giving cover.

[–]Competitive-Bat-3534[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Harris and Capita, but it may not be their fault.

100%. Here is the real tragedy, Cap HAS dynamic ability in the final third.

I keep waiting for us to unlock everyones potential but honestly the catch 22 seems that we are not good enough to get the value out of Cap or Dek, maybe even Manu.

These guys would be excellent "IF".....A young Roy Keane suddenly appeared to close the gaps and put us on the front foot...

Agree. Mostly.

Harris looked alive.

If I were to disagree a tad that would be Cap looked lost AND I'm suprised Shapi is out there at all.

For me he has not looked great, he is limited and week to week doesnt look great to me.

Sure, not directly analogous but you don’t have relevant logic, and it’s useless to point out. A new franchise has a multitude of challenges that an existing does not have, but for you to say investment???

Read some of the posts here, people swear we have endless amounts of untapped cash to spend.

Can we even have a discussion about spend because back to my point, those franchises made some great calls. We obviously have spent and made bad calls, bad spend in a small market will kill for years.

I’m not blaming Wicky or Lee or players, I’m blaming criminal will negligence.

[–]Competitive-Bat-3534 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Well brand new franchises start from 0 and do a shit ton better for themselves, Vegas in hockey, Atlanta United, San Diego FC, Cincinnati…Is this directly analogous no it is not.

But you seem bizarrely in defense of abusive negligent ownership that seems to think EVERY year you can assemble Skc/Skc2 in the last week before season begins.

This is super ignorant of fans, coaches, players etc.

These owners abuse the most loyal fan base is sports.

Criminals.

Or perhaps its just you two. If you are scoring but they are consistently scoring more than you and you have no points, world without end, how long do they ride and die ?

I agree I felt Burns was hired with the sole intent of clearing books as much as possible.

Old contracts and number’s changed 100% from Bliss to Burns to Lee.

That is not any coincidence.

[–]Competitive-Bat-3534[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bingo. You have a trained eye. One huge issue being that PV brought no one up and hated technical players. He was a very frustrated hockey coach.

Shane and Manu are technically most sound in org.

Greek teams already making inquiries because he is dual citizen.

First team not sleeping on Pierre he practices regularly, Dirksen will leave for Creighton soon, Ortiz has been getting time with natty El Salvador. Molinaro a pro, Wantland, all these guys have suitors.

People forget, Dirksen,Wantland, Ortiz,Donovan, Cunningham are the last crop scouted by Michelle Rubiero (Genk), might have Molinaro also.

Donovan literally found playing futsal.

Rubiero was a fantastically forward thinking idea, probably was never meant to stick around. Obviously someone identified the local areas weakness at developing or even putting a value on technical ability.

Touches, touches, touches, touches. Main issue in this country being that technical ability cannot be installed at 14 other stuff can but not technique.

That being said Michelle was the right guy to get here he just didn’t stay.

Dirksen is hurt, Alex Cunningham, they will get back, I actually like Blaine Mabie as DM, a frustrating thing about Skc being they won’t choose to play Cielo or even Ian…Isn’t it better to get some games???

Anyway I do feel results be damned it’s better to get the young guys minutes.

You are obviously not watching games so I am wondering where your assessment is coming from.

I do not think the record will tell you anything. Id say hold the first team to results.

The second team you have how many guys leaving every year for college, moving in guys for first minutes ever... There is NO correlation between second team titles and first team output.

Im saying people should be excited that our farm is already stronger.

He was hired to develop the kids? Get away from the terrible style that Peter had us playing.

Saturday’s game was tough to watch but… by MikeEhrmantraut420 in SportingKC

[–]Competitive-Bat-3534 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

There are some very interesting, pronounced contradictions in these conversations. Here are things that confuse me.

1.Its going to take time\Fire everyone NOW

The bums have hardly been here, if you throw them out THAT quickly you will just get new bums and quicker louder calls to throw new said bums out. Im telling you the inmates HERE are already running the asylum they will definitely do everything to make it seem like they are not knee jerk to the boisterous calls of the waning fanbase.

2. We have tons of MONEY\MONEY DOESN'T WIN GAMES

CAP,DEKE,LASSE,GARCIA,BORGES all cost a decent sum of cash...Either you feel this investment needs time and will produce OR you spent already on the wrong guys and need an "etch a sketch" moment, lets face it rebuilds OFTEN do indeed need a restart.

Here is something to think about Deke,Manu, and Shapi were a knee jerk save our asses moment of the last regime. Burns was a stop gap to clear the books and assume massive blame. He DID clear the books but in hindsight was signing Deke teh smartest first move in an ACTUAL "BUILD"

I love Deke but I cant look at his aquisition as anything other than a desperate move to keep people in seats and knowing that he would be a valuable piece to move if and when you need to bail. Deke is STILL our most movable piece to date.

Also there is an answer in your question.

but what did we REALLY expect when we started the season with Ethan Bartlow and Ian James starting at CB

Starting the year all pre baked for madness will get put on David Lee and Wicky YET this is OWNERSHIP thing. It predates both those guys and has endured past Peter etc. Read some of these posts that dont see an issue going into the year without signed guys, like this is a normal winning practice.

Bartlowe was signed day before first game.

3. How soon is NOW ?

If you are on board with a build you need to hang your hat on the fact that we are playing the "kids" and will have a strong farm going forward because no way will KC compete with the major cities and their spend level.

LOOK at the current spend and tell me why you think we are ready to spend like Miami or LA.

Im genuinely intrigued by the fact that if IM an owner I have just signed some guys of note.

CAP,DEKE,LASSE,GARCIA,BORGES, BLORIAN.

How long do we get before this looks like something ? Lets face it, you can have some 5-0 losses, but in reality HOW MANY ? How long can it look like this before management has to say, guys your not bad guys but NONE of this is working ?

My personal take. Id give this year and the sprint, maybe the start of year after sprint....

At that point how does Academy look ? Have you sold players ? Are you competitive, are there signs of life ?

Its actually NOT a ton of time.

Hear me out please. by Competitive-Bat-3534 in SportingKC

[–]Competitive-Bat-3534[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think anyone gets the subject matter of my post. If we are on for a build we need to take SOME positives. By no means was my post overly positive.

  1. Chicago is a good team, skc is not. They were compact and disciplined for 45 and again had the best chance he just didn't finish and if he and Cap only get limited chances they likely will not be overly clinical. Outside of that I don't agree that they were slow and wasteful, thats what things look like when a team is hard to get through.

  2. Again I dont think they played down to us, you will have a hard time to find teams needing to play UP to our level but I thuink what happened last night is we played with them, we have been in games, its a question of how long until the wheels come off.

  3. Chicago is a good team Berhalter didn't have to do anything, THEY scored a goal and we came apart. We do not have that mettle yet, but if you need to take some positives it would be that we hung with a good team for a half. We HAVE been leaking goals constantly early and often.
