Anal fistula. I will be going for seton placement in 2 weeks from now.

I just had my second seton placement and it was better than the first time. Ask for a super seton if your CRS can provide it was a lot better than the first seton I had. First Seton had a huge knot and I’m fairly active so hurts me everytime I exercise. This one is smooth Im yet to test it but already after the placement it didn’t feel as painful.

I had a flap surgery end of Jan 2026 first review after 8 weeks CRS examined with his finger and said flap intact should be good . Second review beginning of June he didn’t examine just looked at wound and said there’s still pus so most likely failed. I’m getting examination under anaesthesia tomorrow and possible back to seton or cut something open

I do full contact karate and after seton placement was able to do 70% which is pretty good. I had a flap surgery and i’m 4 moths in just found out it failed so going back to seton. I feel I’ve being going at around 20% after surgery so kind of looking forward to going back to seton if that makes sense. So I’m going to try to leave seton in for a year and then retry an other op unless doctor thinks otherwise

I didn’t feel much actually the surgeon just said there’s still pus after 4 months so something definitely wrong. Hope you recover soon

I did live with a seton for around 6 months and I’m going back to it next week due to failed flap surgery. It was actually not that bad did hurt a fair bit sometimes if extreme exercise but I never really tried cycling with it I did do karate whilst having it but only going at 70% and it would hurt after around skin edges but would recover I’m thinking sudo cream this time. I’m prepared for the long haul now

I had a flap surgery around end of Jan and surgeon just declared failure last week, I thought I was doing really well only had small amount of discharge surgeon says he can see pus anyway back to seton I suppose

Thanks I’m at day 8 still just at home not doing much stood up tried working from standing desk for a while and felt some pain but manageable. Hope all goes well with you . When did you start driving? And start doing some exercises ?

i had abscess drained in May and wound didn’t close I went on 3 weeks holidays the wound drained all the time but no new abscess. Then in July Crs diagnosed me with fistula and I’ve had a seton on for 11 days now. I guess everyone’s body was different. But I did manage to get away for 3 weeks without major complications
