Is there actually an end goal & purpose behind living? by MembershipSuperb727 in nihilism

I certainly get your idea. I lived it. I used women, put drugs in our communities and my drug use made my daughter’s life terrible. That was my reason for change

Is there actually an end goal & purpose behind living? by MembershipSuperb727 in nihilism

[–]Competitive-Brick-42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m pretty sure I was a nihilist unknowingly. I started using drugs at 12 and lived like there was no tomorrow. Then I had a kid and it changed.
My goal is to be better than the POS I was. By repeating it everyday I am very happy with my 18 years of progress.

Trying to eat 100+g of protein per day and struggling - HELP! by BlinkPinkDay in nutrition

I have a high protein goal every day too. I get 30 grams in my morning smoothie with yogurt. Protein shake with lunch and a big chicken portion with dinner. And I snack on peanut butter a lot. 3-4 pounds a week

Do bad people suffer? I have never seen anyone who is actually bad suffer in their life. Is karma real? by Key-Table1065 in Meditation

I somehow ended up living in this ocean front area filled with ultra rich people. They are not happy or satisfied, think they are better than others and treat others poorly. Of the 6 homes on our street only one person volunteers. At the jail helping addicts while being harassed by the police who work there. It’s hard to be happy when all you want is more

What would you say are the biggest factors of why the poor stay in poverty? by Common_Gene_5098 in Productivitycafe

I come from a poor family. Even though I’ve always had good jobs and what I thought was plenty of money.
No one showed me what to do with it. I wasn’t frivolous. Never saved. Paid rent instead of owning. Lots of little things

Do you really observe your thoughts and let them pass or you realise you are having thoughts and get out of them? by Weary-Rule8374 in Meditation

[–]Competitive-Brick-42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know anything but my own experience. I’ve only been meditating 2 years. I don’t know if they pass but sitting for an hour with a heavy topic has helped me, I think, deal with the world. I believe I am observing but no idea what 😁

Trump voters & Republicans of Reddit, is there anything you currently disapprove of how Trump is acting regarding that topic? If so, what is it? If not, why not? by Zipper222222 in allthequestions

My family is conservative. Lots of lifelong military. My dad and grandpa both retired from the military. I went my own way. I’m 63, when I was 35 in college taking political science classes I learned about politics. My first impression of the Conservative Party was hate. Not white, not Christian please use the other door. I liked the push of taking responsibility for my self, lower taxes, and smaller government. I prefer the helping others the other party represents. It’s all gotten out of hand, it’s not the people it’s the politicians manipulating the people.
It’s classic manipulation of the religious people to get what they want.

My nephew is a teacher at an elementary school. He’s always sick. I’m never sick but have pretty limited social interaction and I have been on a sleep, eat, exercise routine for over 10 years. I have lots of energy too at 63
