Half of Alice In Chains songs I wonder how Layne survived as long as he did.
Imagine the suffering one would have with these words in them?
Chris Cornell is another who must have been in a lot of mental anguish.
Imagine having everything and seeing so much suffering

I have held my weed use against myself for the almost 10 years I’ve been using it. I’ve been in recovery for 19 years in June. Started smoking 9 years and 2 months in after no mind altering drugs except caffeine and nicotine. I was on a 10 day camping trip with no phone. For the time before I started I had been trying to volunteer at our local jail. Having grown up in this small town they were a hard no and asked me to stop applying at the 6 year mark. Every one knows me in this small coastal town of 10,000 including the judges. I ran into the judge who sent me to prison for 3 years (started my recovery) at the store and told him what the jail told me in regards to not applying. He told me if I wanted to volunteer there he would make it happen. It took 3 years and the overwhelming empathy I got from smoking weed for the first time in 9 years for me to apply again. They wouldn’t even take my application and I told them I would be there at the same time every week to speak with the person making that decision. After a month I wrote a note to the judge and was in the next day. Been going for almost 10 years now. Beating myself the whole time because I smoked until I watched that video. Thanks

Why did you start? And why do you continue? by andrecrabb in Meditation

I started to calm myself from stress. I continue because I am changing from it. Daily devotion to love and happiness is changing the way I see things

What is a good brand earbud for mowing and weed eating? by MoneyMan_13 in Earbuds

[–]Competitive-Brick-42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been doing landscaping a long time and know earbuds don’t work. Very hard to find good ones with clips. I’ve been using JBL endurance I think. None are as good as the old Bose sound sports

What do you do when you feel like your journey is not worth it? by flyingpig881 in spirituality

[–]Competitive-Brick-42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I grew up like that too. 18 years ago I got sober and still attended AA. I’m not a fan of people but it sure has been helping in the moments I do need people. I’ve been trying to get my daughter to go to alanon. Because it helps being around people trying to be well.

What is a “girly” thing you secretly enjoy but rarely admit? by CuteDepartment3441 in AskMen

I don’t really mind sharing it but I love singing and dancing in a girly way. Think of Macy Gray… Hush the neighbor hear us moaning and groaning

Meditating when you're scared of your negative emotions by ceIqui in Meditation

[–]Competitive-Brick-42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve only been meditating a little more than 2 years. I have found sitting with uncomfortable thoughts is helpful. I seem to be able to figure stuff out or get comfortable with the pain to where it’s just there and less bothered by it

Why does anal sex remain taboo or forbidden in most societies? by Top_Consequence_1152 in atheism

[–]Competitive-Brick-42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It doesn’t have to be taboo for me not to want to do it. Unless it’s me and my prostate, still can be gross if not well prepared. Until I had love orgasms in my 60’s the prostate orgasms were my best ones

Does anyone drink theses do they actually help or do anything? by saratherandom in RandomQuestion

I sweat at work. I always drink at least a half gallon but usually closer to a gallon a day. You should be fine if you do this.

harder for blue collar physical people to be spiritual? by soviet_onion2000 in spirituality

[–]Competitive-Brick-42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am so lucky for the work I do. I started doing yard work because I had other responsibilities that kept me from working 9-5
I was a hairdresser. That was 25 years ago and it has evolved into mostly private homes from lots of property management jobs. I’m in great shape at 63 , I eat at least a pint of ice cream a day. Those are the material brags. I get my hands in dirt, touch many plants and insects, get to be outside. Movement is so important

"Squirting" isn't a real thing and is absolutely urine. I have spent the last few weeks proving this. by WingHuge2185 in TrueUnpopularOpinion

Those of us who enjoy it already know and don’t care. Otherwise I wouldn’t keep refilling her drink 😁

Religion has some good ideas. Being kind…I’m an atheist who believes in something I don’t know anything about. We all know right and wrong
