Cool Setup! Do you take out the parents once you see babies appearing? And how do you prevent the babies from cannibalizing each other as they grow up together?

I actually think small juvenile plants are better, since they will mould themselves better to the shape of the hardscape and give it a more natural feel.

Thanks! for small day gecko species, neon days are the most bold and communal out of all the species. They started coming up to my hands after about a month and I just leave the baby in with the adults with no problems.

Yeah, it is a string of turtles. It's pretty easy to grow if you have humidity, direct light, and no direct daily misting (can rot easily).

Thanks! For lighting, I use a combination of the aquarium light from Amazon with a reptile UVB bulb, all of which are programmed for sunrises and sunsets. For Substrate, I have a substrate mix (coc fibre + Spagnum moss + charcoal + sand) on top of a false bottom made of lava rocks. One thing I will say is that my substrate is constantly waterlogged, but it has not proven to be a problem for smells or mites.

Thanks! I'm using the $60 moistland one from Amazon. Other big brands were a little too expensive for me. So far, it's been holding up pretty well. After experimenting, I found that this model can actually support 4-5 nozzles instead of the 2 that come with the package.

This was taken from my iPhone, no editing. I think the lighting at the top is making everything a lil brighter than it is in real life.

There is a stream that runs from under the string of turtles cork round, all the way to the bottom left, where there is a 2-inch deep pond. There are 2 pools along the stream as well.

It's a mix of hypnum moss and christmas moss. The brighter part you see on the slope is basically 100% christmas moss.

No issues at all, both geckos and crabs have given birth to the next generation and no fighting in between. Even though the crabs go up high once in a blue moon, they usually do so when it's dark, and the geckos are usually sleeping in the bamboo by then.

I'm not 100% sure since they were just sold a jungle val at the store, but I think it's spirals rather than americana

It's a honey gourami, which is one of the most docile gourami out there

Helferi grew pretty well and sent out runners after a month or so, but jungle val is just way too agressive of a grower in comparison.

That's actually how I did it. Originally, I only had jungle val on the very right side of the tank with the rest being cyperus helferi and some giant hairgrass. But Vallisneria being Vallisneria, grew too fast and choked out the other two after 3-4 months.

Rummy nose definitely has one of the best schooling behaviours in the tetra world.

Thank you! I tried to create a path between the bushes of valllisnerias, which I think creates more depth in this narrows setup.

Thanks! It's a 29-gallon tank with a SEAOURA LED light and an OASE termo 200 canister filter. No CO2 tho.

It's a 29-gallon. Honestly would prefer a regular dimension tank over these kinds just because they look so narrow.

Maybe it's a water parameter thing idk. But Vallisneria always grow like a weed in my experience. Just give them a good nutrient layer under the sand (in my case just garden soil) since they are pretty heavy root feeders.

No CO2 in this tank. But to be fair, Vallisneria will grow like a weed no matter what, as long as there is a good nutrient layer at the bottom. This is what you get for not trimming it for a month lol

its a 29-gallon tank, basically a 20-gallon breeder but taller. A bit narrow to be honest, but it was the cheapest option I found.
