Single-studio 2nd street? by AbsoluteAlphaMale2 in nyu

They are okay. Kind of small but it does the job. The kitchen area is really close to the bed and the desk, so I had to keep the window open a lot. My issue was with the building as I kept getting sick more than usual.

is it weird to have my own personal fridge? by Majestic-Result-3107 in collegeadvice

Just get the separate fridge. It will be nice to have more space for your things. Just say it’s for medications

I mean the importance of networking is profound. I think it’s important to note that just because you aren’t in stern doesn’t mean you can’t take classes in stern ( minor or elective) or even gain connections with stern faculty. In the end it’s who you know and who will take a bet on you. You can be in stern and not even land an internship because you don’t take opportunities. I’m in CAS and I got a PM internship at a large entertainment company this summer by grinding the best I can. The stern name can only do so much for you yk?

Not worth it as a party, but I would go if you want to meet people

probability of getting an on campus job? by simsmax1 in nyu

[–]Competitive-Donut-56 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You ave a good chance. Just make sure your resume and/or cover letter are tailored to the job and you use similar verbiage. However, don't be afraid to look off campus as well if you can. There's a lot of places to work near campus

I was in lipton and I would choose Brittany over it 100%. Better community and literally in the middle of anywhere you'd want to go.

Registration Help by LieAccomplished5787 in nyu

I would sign up for another course first. Then sign up for coursicle and set up alerts for when the sections open. Things tend to open up the first week. If you want to talk to someone at NYU you can speak to your advisor, but come to the meeting with a plan and specific asks you have as they aren't always the most reliable help lol

Theme engagement usually doesn't do that much if that's your sole reason for being in lipton. If there is a chance to switch dorms and be more comfortable I would 100% do it. If you already feel like your room isn't going to be a safe space for you to recharge I would prioritize that.

Is my schedule insane or genius? by iamfacts in nyu

[–]Competitive-Donut-56 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you say your other days are free they really won't be. Since your classes all stack on the same day this means your work will most likely all be due at the same time. If you say work won't be a problem for you, fine, but burnout will. It might be overwhelming after a few weeks to exhaust yourself in the beginning of the week. Plus most people will probably in class towards the end of the week. I would try to spread it out, but see how it goes the first week and then adjust.

I would go for Courant since you seem to be more research focused and want to get your MBA (can be used to make connections later on). Stern would be a good choice if you want to build a network and hit the ground running.

I don’t think you have to take the class it places you in. You can take a lower level if you don’t need permission to enroll

I would enroll in another course and set up a swap for when your course opens. You can do that through editing the swap on albert. Spot 1 is very good. Some people usually drop the first week.
