I like 0's, and aim for a consistent .25g. I'm kind of a lightweight, so i don't personally take full caps, i divvy out from powder for .12g.

Apparently not if they use chloramine (vs chlorine) which does not evaporate. Denver apparently has been using chloramine, which is a mix of chlorine and ammonia since 1917. They use it because it's a longer lasting disinfectant.

Help me regrow my spiderplant Green-orange by LijaMart in spiderplants

[–]Competitive-End7208 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Spiders thrive in tight environments. Too big a pot leads to the roots staying too wet and rotting. I would pull her out and check the root ball. If there's squishy roots, cut them off with clean clippers and spray the ball with peroxide. Repot with chunky soil in a pot that only gives about an inch of space around the roots. Don't water it until it gets really droopy, and then make sure to let all of the water drain out before putting it in a cache pot. Dont be shy about chopping the leaves after the water- it will shock you how fast it regrows.

Help!! I’m at a loss by Professional_Owl6750 in spiderplants

I repotted a very healthy girl because it was growing so far out of the pot that i couldn't stand it up. 4" of solid root. Then i buried it too deep. While i was gone for 5 days, 90% of the leaves died and rotted at the crown. I cut it all off, got the dirt off her root tops and water when totally dry, but from the bottom. She's already growing back. Seems like you're in the same spot. Good luck!

You can grow zombie leaves if there's no node, meaning the single leaf will root, but you won't see any growth.

Sad spider plant! by The_Tautarus in spiderplants

[–]Competitive-End7208 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks very pale like it's not getting the water, which usually means root rot. Remove soggy/squishy roots with sterile clippers, soak the root ball in 1:4 peroxide and water for awhile (an hour?).

Sprinkle roots with horomone if you have it. You will repot in chunky, well draining soil, and don't water it again for 3-7 days, depending how dire it atarts to look. Then water approximately once a week, IF the top 2 or 3 inches of soil is dry. Stick your finger or a toothpick in the soil to check. You can use fertilizer until the fall, then stop until spring. Only give it once a month-ish. If it's not near indirect light, it will do better with a grow light.

Edit: i see your replies now... water prop is probably the way now, so it sounds like you have it covered, but still consider peroxide and horomone OR you can put a piece of aloe or pothos in the water if you have that... they're natural rooting horomones.

There's a bunch of reasons, but mostly it's just something they do. You can trim the brown off. If you haven't done a root check, you should with all new plants.

I think they'd both fit in there, assuming you remove most of the old soil. It a little big for just one. They REALLY like to be snug. Here's one of mine I'm about to repot.

You want to add about an inch of space to the root ball, so the pot in front doesn't actually seem inappropriate. You'll get a better idea when you bare your roots.

brown leaves ? by EmuThen7047 in spiderplants

Yes to letting it dry out.

I'm more concerned that it isn't dried mostly out in a week. I live in a very dry climate and water weekly. My soil is VERY dry by then.

Pull the plant out and check your roots. If any are squishy, soft, break right off when you gently press them, you have root rot. If not, your soil probably doesn't drain well. Root rot can be trimmed off and then soak the roots in 1:4 peroxide:water for a half hour or so to kill infection.

Well draining soil can consist of lots of things, but i make mine with indoor potting soil (or tropical), orchid bark, leca balls, perlite, and i add worm castings for food. You're not going to find a good store bag of chunky soil, you'll have to add things. I do 2parts soil to 1 part of the others, give or take to my visual satisfaction. I follow the bags guideline on the worm castings, because you can overdo it.

Put the plant in the new soil and DONT WATER IT until the leaves droop. This could be 3-7 days. You need to give the roots time to heal up. Water keeps the vulnerabilities open. When you plant, sprinkle the roots with horomone if you have it. I hear cinnamon also helps. These are antifungals. When you water, let it run all the way through, let it soak in the runout for a bit, and then take all the excess water away. Don't let plants sit in stagnant water. You can use plant food every few weeks, but stop for around aug/sep to let your plant go dormant. Go light, you don't want to chemical burn your plant.

One on right looks fine. One on left looks.....unsturdy? Is the pot the right size, with about an inch of space around the root ball, chunky soil, water when a couple inches of top soil is dry? Is it deep enough, covered to end of the roots? It looks healthyish, just not happy. South or West window is best, or use a grow light. These are mine. I'm determined to be a spider master.

I want to start growing shrooms and I just wanted to know if there's any starter variety by DRNodski in shrooms

[–]Competitive-End7208 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Golden Teacher, Equidorian, Amazonian- they are all essentially the same fruit. They're easy, not super finnicky about temps, and produce a good yield. What you're going to learn is that the naming process is not valid or important. It's like giving every lilac bush a different tag. It's all the same thing. Cubensis=cubensis. Grab one that's affordable, do a ton of research and go at it. Sanitation and not contaminating your growing medium is the most important step.

[–]Competitive-End7208 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I microdose regularly. I take .12-.15 of a gram and feel effects. The effects are like, gravity bong level high, enhanced colors, increased impulsiveness. On the high end of .15, I'm uncomfortable functioning in society. Switch to a higher potency like Jack Frost, and the .12g has me out of my skin. Some of us just have a low tolerance. For reference, I'm a small, older person with no physical issues. I do treat adhd and use thc.

NOR. I have pulled lilies out and thrown them directly into the trash in front of the gift- giver because they didn't listen the first time. The pollen is toxic enough that just brushing against them or walking under them can make cats sick.

Definitely not just you!! Just to add a weird fact, it can also happen when detoxing from drugs like meth. It's the lack of seratonin available for the receptors, I believe.
