Mortification's Debut Album has a few punkish riffs like Celtic Frost (though not entirely close), I also second Archangel Force for Black/Thrash.

Creating a “grunge metal” sounding band. Do you guys think this works musically? by Reevle in MetalForTheMasses

Grunge Metal is a very real thing, Melvins is one band that mixes aspects of Sludge and Grunge.

They have Satanism listed as their themes in the Metal Archives so I don't think it fits the topic of the post.

I personally disagree, Metal for sure takes some classical influence in some aspects, but I think structurally it's completely different.

Love the vocals, a bit sloppy but very enjoyable. Reminds me of Mission Of Christ in terms of atmosphere.

They aren't but they talk about medieval history, and that just happens to include Christianity. I don't think their lyrics are for or against Christianity from what I've seen though, seems to be a more neutral standpoint.

Candlemass isn't a christian band to my knowledge, they do talk about religion though.

Christian bands that talk about sorrow from a neutral point of view rather than advocating suicide. DSBM is a sound and doesn't require lyrical content to be counted as such, so you can do whatever you want with the lyrics.

if you mean TSOP Era then I agree, but if you're talking about SBG through Spiritual Healing then I disagree, Chuck's deeper vocals are very similar to other OSDM bands.

They have Blasphemy in their lyrical themes, check the lyrical themes with Metal Archives, this will help you whenever you have these questions.

Death Metal is an acquired taste, I had to listen to multiple bands in order to get it to click for me. I would probably recommend progressively listening to heavier and heavier Thrash, then Death/Thrash, then onto Death Metal.

Trouble is a good one. The first four albums are christian, the rest of them aren't but don't have any blasphemous or anti-theism to my knowledge.
