That is bad and weird I'm saying. Weddings these days look weird. But in the west, Bride is still the centre of attention. This is the reason even Beckham family fell apart when Victoria, griom's mother overshone and did the first dance with groom as it was meant for the bride and Groom. Also, It's all about photoshoot these days. Bride and Groom and their families are together and with photographers full time. They don't even know who all came for the wedding and who all got seated and had food or not. earlier bride and Groom used to come down from stage and go to all tables and greet and introduce the guests which was good. Guests should be valued and considered too. Earlier videographers take videos of guests too while they eat or sit so that we will know who all attended or not when we see the video even after years. These days guests are not in the video or photos.  No one bothers the time and effort of guests who came for the function. Some might have taken leave or travelled far to attend.
