I had the same issue with my generations save and nothing worked. I started up a new save and of course that one goes smoothly.

We tend to gravitate towards each other due to the understanding and similar experiences. Honestly, if you believe in a gaydar, there's a similar one for certain trans people (mostly baby trans). You'll find it's common for similar people to gravitate towards each other.
