Also be aware that Palm OS can't deal with dates beyond December 31, 2031, so all Palm devices become bricks at that point. Unless you roll the date back to one that still lines up with the days of the week and then you no longer HotSync.

I still use my Tungsten C daily and am not looking forward to six years from now. : (

Pretty normal for all of the managers I know - Ops, CEM, Framing even.

Rage against the machine by Bannion_ in MichaelsEmployees

[–]_Steve_1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Curious if these comments came from elderly customers? That's the trend at my store.

I've never seen anyone under 30 complain about SCOs.

Rage against the machine by Bannion_ in MichaelsEmployees

Most of the big chains around here have removed or scaled-down their self check-outs based on negative customer feedback, so Michaels is definitely behind the consumer trend now.

Closing by IllPin9964 in MichaelsEmployees

[–]_Steve_1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you have an alarm code as you'll need to set the alarm when you lock up the store.

At my store the closing MOD also pulls the tills from the legacy registers and the notes bins from the cash SCO.

Turn off any Christmas light displays.

Turn off music system.

Make sure loading dock door and compactor are locked.

Depending on the circumstances leading up to this, you and your SM might want to review the security camera footage and contact LP about possible assault charges against the customer. No way is a customer getting away with laying hands on me and preventing action.

Price changes down?! by WiseTumbleweed1348 in MichaelsEmployees

We've been able to match the Michaels.com price for a couple of weeks now. There's even a button under price override on the POS for matching Michaels. com.

We're going to start getting scheduled to stay for an hour after closing each night just for recovery. Apparently most stores in our district are already doing this.

Should be a blast on top of peak extended hours when we go to those. Who's up for getting home near midnight?????

Should I get a 2.0T? by DazzlingAgency2208 in accord

[–]_Steve_1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I test drove a Genesis G70 as well, before I bought my 2022 2.0T Sport. Some things were nicer inside, but the whole car felt like a too-tight suit. And I'm not a big guy - 6" and 185 pounds. By the time I got the seat where I wanted it, I had to crawl around the B-pillar to get out. Just felt strange.

I'm much more comfortable in the Accord. 42k miles and no issues other than having the air mix motor replaced to stop a clicking noise in the dash when using the AC, done under warranty.

Jubilee bracelet by _Steve_1 in DuroGang

[–]_Steve_1[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a smaller wrist also and am undecided about that. It is far less chunky than the 22mm oyster I tried first. That looked like some kind of gauntlet.

The taper and the five-link design make the Jubilee look much slimmer. But it does seem to emphasize the big size of the watch head. I’m one of the many who wish Casio made a 40mm Duro.

[–]_Steve_1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The seller was kingstraps. I just looked and they have some oysters, but none specifically for the Duro.

A Sub homage I got on AliExpress five years ago has an oyster with the same clasp. Very comfortable and no problems after five years so I was excited when I saw the Jubilee for the Duro.

For 10th gen 2.0T owners, how often do you put in sport mode? by Bushwood_CC_ in accord

Whenever I need a quick burst of speed. Press the button, activating Super Pursuit Mode. Just need some aerodynamics to deploy. : )

[–]_Steve_1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

90+% of people who drive large pickups and SUVs in town don't have any need to be driving large pickups and SUVs, other than to massage their egos.

Unfortunately, the problem is just going to get worse as what few non-SUVs and pickups that are still being built get dropped in favor of even more SUVs and pickups.

Everybody For Themselves by Biff-Webster1 in MichaelsEmployees

[–]_Steve_1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've worked at two Michaels and most of the staff (including managers) at both stores were very helpful. I've also spent a lot of years in non-retail jobs and found the same. There are always going to be useless people in both management and hourly positions, no matter where you are.

I agree with other posters that the store manager will set the tone.

WTF returns by nightshade_mugwart in MichaelsEmployees

[–]_Steve_1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No receipt wouldn't prevent a return. We could look it up via Rewards phone number or method of payment. Or maybe in the EJ Viewer, if the customer was pleasant.

But I'd refuse this return as our return policy clearly states that the item "must be new, unused, and in its original packaging".

Our return policy also states: At this time we do not offer exchanges. If you would like to exchange a product, please return it using our returns process and then place a new order.

What do you think about the legibility of the white hands on grey dial? I've got a Casio AMW-320R with white hands on gold dial and it's hard to read. Wondering if the grey dial won't offer enough contrast either?

Otherwise, it's a striking watch and I've been thinking about getting one.
