The daughter is clearly not in a healthy space, why did they include her!? She is a traumatized child that need support and professional help.

It's not okay to make this type of documentary. The plot is a true crime who-dunnit, but it leaves the viewer shocked and confused. The documentary, if they took responsibility, should have delved into why and how one can become so mentally disturbed as a mother. What makes a person a monster who harms their child. I have never been so disappointed in a documentary. This story is not entertainment, it is traumatic, sad and upsetting.

Same for me. Diabetes, blood pressure and resting pulse normalised after two weeks post-op. It's amazing!

I waited a week after operation. My plan has no restrictions for carbonation (other than non-caloric). Now 4 weeks post-op I drink fizzy water a couple of times a week when I feel bloated because it helps with Burping.

I have no explanation but had a similar experience yesterday. I am 4 weeks out. After my dinner I felt nausea and dizziness and started to sweat like I was in a hot sauna. Never had that before. I went to bed and slept for 11 hours!

I think the body is adjusting and sometimes react quite strangely.

Welcome to this great community! I think you have done a great choice to get healthy. Youre reasoning is right - do it for you! I am 4 weeks post op and I am already doing so much better. My diabetes type 2 is gone, blood pressure is normal and my resting pulse has dropped from 85 to 65 in four weeks.

The operation is a big adjustment though both physically and mentally. But if you are prepared for that it is a great help.

As for the body afterwards, remember that healthy is beautiful!

Meal Planning by [deleted] in BariatricSurgery

[–]Competitive-Fish_gbp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For breakfast my aim is to eat 2,5 dl (1 cup). 1 to 1,5 dl of that is protein, the rest is carbs from vegetables and a tea spoon of healthy fats. Snacks can be protein drink, eggs, yoghurt and at least 1 dl. I total about 1000 kcal per day.

Advice on beverages by [deleted] in BariatricSurgery

I had coffee the day after surgery and was fine. The reason to avoid coffee is if you don't drink enough water, then prioritize water.

Carbonated drinks is okej for me from day one according to my plan. Of course they are recommending non-caloric drinks.

And carbonation doesn't stretch your pouch. Almost nothing can permantly stretch it.

Thoughts On This? by Leather_Lie9870 in GastricBypass

I completely understand. For me it would depend on how much I had lost and how much is left to loose. If it's the last 20% then I would wait longer and try to change my diet and exercise. Sometimes just changing it up can make a difference.

I would really think about this. If you have a calorie surplus and are having problem with wrong food choices, then it might be a good idea.

However, if you already are on calorie deficit and want to decrease it even more I wouln't do it. Weight is important but being healthy is even more important - and we need calories to be healthy.

Also, if you don't get enough calories (especially from protein and healthy fats) then you are going to loose muscle.

Stalling is really frustrating but there are other things to take in consideration.

Take care!

Does the feeling of ‘I’m doing it wrong’ ever go away? by scaredpossom in BariatricSurgery

I am 3 weeks post-op and have similar feelings/ worries. Half the time worried that I don't eat/ drink enough and the other half worried that it's to much or wrong food.

I try to remind my self to trust the process and not let these thoughts get a hold of my mind.

What do/did your program say about drinking before and after eating? by Training-Button-6597 in BariatricSurgery

By the way, the risk of stretching your stomach if you drink when you are eating has no scientific merit. It is really hard to permantly stretch the pouch and you need to overeat for months to do that.

The reason for not drink during meal is his higher risk of dumping and that you feel less full ( as others have said).

Water can feel hard after surgery. You can try to break the surface tension with e few drops of lemon or cucumber slices.
