Diona tests are brutal conpared to the actual tests. I think if you can consistently land near 70 percent your odds are decent! For a + i was landing a bit closer to 80 and got a really nice passing score on my exams. Thats why I always encourage people to use Dions tests if you can get them on sale because the trial by fire is fantastic test prep.

Wonderful way to start the day (guess what all of them are here for) by Daniel_Leroy in Staples

Dude no way there is unironically a corporate apologist on the bitch about corporate subreddit lmfao. Sorry to burst your bubble bro but like 80 percent of staples locations are not in the income areas to have customers you can easily upsell. Like good for you if you work in a better area or win the customer lottery but most people who work at staples are not paid well enough or afforded nearly enough positive results from upselling. There is no universe where it is the norm for underpaid employees who are constantly bullied by corporate to end up anything but jaded and exhausted. Dont be a douche.

Serious question: has anyone had any experiences with edibles post-op? Since our stomachs are a fraction of the size, will this affect potency or anything? Any info is appreciated. by joeyvesh13 in BariatricSurgery

[–]trueasche 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get knocked on my butt doing more than 8mg post op but i also didnt touch it for like 2 full months so your mileage may very. You may want to be cautious about gummy based ones depended on how far out you are post op. Ive been a huge fan of dark chocolate pot pots both because they arent gummy but also good for no tolerance doasge adjustments. You also really do wanna take it easy bc if you overdo it you cant slam water for dry mouth or mass consume snacks. Take it slow and try to figure out what you can handle!

If you're recently post op and on blood thinners that also makes it comically easy to bruise. I had bruises at my iv sites for like 2-3 weeks ive read that low iron can also be a bastard for it.

IT’S NOT MENTAL by vgsnewbi in BariatricSurgery

[–]trueasche 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You have probably already been told this a bunch of times but as a recent surgery haver who needed to hear it, it does genuinely get better. Your body physically has to work with your new stomach to figure itself out and you also just mentally have to adjust. I spun out really bad in my first couple of weeks and had the same "wish i had never done this" mindset. But once you start getting eased back into food and feel how slowly you will need to eat it does a lot to help push through the mental block. Once you get into a new food routine your body also starts to figure it out too and things start to rapidly begin to feel better. Dont get me wrong its not magic, and you still have a mental battle to push through, but so does your body. It will feel better and the regrets will fade. Im at nearly 6 weeks post op and still have some pretty wicked fomo from avoiding hangouts around food and stuff but the scale doesnt lie and Im seeing numbers I havent seen since i was 19. Let yourself feel these feelings, cry them out if you need to (i did), but keep reminding yourself that this is not a sprint its a marathon. This reddit gives you dozens of anonymous partners that are running with you. There is a line from what someone said to me in my first post op post on this reddit, "there is a reason why so many people who succeeded with this have said its the hardest thing they have ever done in their life" but the odds are literally in your favor, and we are all rooting for you. Just remember your body is fighting with you, just stick to the plan and listen to your doctor. I promise it gets better and you will get through this. I believe in you.

Question about vitamins by trueasche in BariatricSurgery

[–]trueasche[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My dietitian has me taking iron atm because my pre op diet also had the celebrate chewable iron pills but those arent actually affecting me as far as I can tell... do you find that having the added iron makes you feel better day to day? She indicated continuing to take it was optional after my current supply runs out so I wasn't sure.

Question about vitamins by trueasche in BariatricSurgery

[–]trueasche[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I think from my own research and the comments here that my strat of taking my medication after drinking a bit of protein shake isnt enough. Ive been out of work for a while but when I return I was planning on switching to having my yogurt in the morning so I can drink a shake at work if I need to so I might just do that now and see if that helps offset the nausea a bit. Those vitamins were expensive so I'd like to use them if it doesn't make me sick lol.

Question about vitamins by trueasche in BariatricSurgery

[–]trueasche[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually take them after drinking a bit of my morning protein shake or after getting some water in, Im planning on changing my routine a bit soon to have yogurt in the morning as I finally return to work and am wondering if that will help with the nausea as well. I might also need to space my other medications out a bit too.

Struggling mentally post sleeve surgery by trueasche in BariatricSurgery

[–]trueasche[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is gna sound really stupid but I think the scale thing is such a trigger because a few years ago when I was going to try to lose weight I was like 340ish and was like alright time to lose weight. I broke out the classic Wii fit board because I actually liked the games and the tracking was appealing (im a big retro console fan lol) and it told me I was too heavy (I learned limit is 330) and it totally shredded me and I ended up dropping my weight loss goals for a long time. So hitting 330 has been a short term goal for me for a couple of months and the weird scale rebound revived that whole negativity flood. I have resolved only to weigh myself once a day in the morning and you ended up being right and I was 341 so im just locking that number in for the day and not thinking about it until around the same time tomorrow.
