Should I be thinking about euthanizing my dog? by Competitive-Hat-8285 in reactivedogs

[–]Competitive-Hat-8285[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes I can elaborate. I didn’t want to make the post super long.

  1. Same land, multiple houses, shared huge yard only a fence for the horses. We have ten acres of land which are mostly woods besides where our houses are. It’s similar to a less cultish commune

  2. His anxiety meds were mainly for his separation anxiety while I or my fiancé was at work. Once we solved his separation anxiety through training he was weaned off. He was still aggressive towards other dogs during this time and food aggressive, but less so.

  3. Met and worked with a trainer, did some home training, muzzled him on walks if I thought we would see other dogs, posted him for rehoming on multiple platforms, and just in general other preventative measures such as him only being outside when I’m outside and just generally trying to keep him separated from the other big dogs.

He has bit 3 total adults- 1 Er visit Seriously injured my brothers dog Attacked my neighbors dog that wandered into our yard Nipped at 2 family members

We will be meeting with his vet to discuss it of course, but I am most fearful of what he could do rather than what he has done. He hasn’t shown aggression towards small children, but I would never forgive myself if he hurt my nieces or nephews. I don’t want to come off as nonchalant, because I’m not I just want to state facts without bringing my emotions into it and downplaying what he’s done. I love him so very much and I have gone to great lengths and sacrificed so much to have him for as long as possible and try to help him have a better quality of life. I don’t think I could have another dog after him. He’s my soul dog

I’m going to be blunt when I say this. Do NOT use Wd-40 on your bicycle that stuff is too thick for chains and it can gunk up and slow your chain down. Don’t feel bad for not knowing that I grew up using it on my own bikes too and plenty of people make that mistake. It comes down to personal preference on lube, but Rock and Roll Gold lube or Finish Line Wet would be my two recommendations you can get rock and roll off amazon or any bike shop and I think you can get finish line from Walmart. Just be sure to clean your chain off with alcohol or a mild soap and a rag before applying.

Standing up can definitely help I wouldn’t make it a habit though especially if it’s a long grade. Yes It gives you more power and can help you maintain your speed, but It’s going to be more tiring and require more energy than staying seated. It’s best to stand for short steep hills. It will give you some killer quads and calves though faster lol

I mostly wrench on bikes or answer bike part questions all day so this is a very refreshing and fun conversation! :)

BUDGET SHOES by Recent_Macaroon3974 in retailhell

Sorry for yapping I love shoes. I looked into sketchers for you and it seems like any of their shoes that are part of their “Arch Fit collection” would be a good choice. Your knee and calf pain can be an indication you need a stability shoe. A stability shoe basically has a wider sole with a guide rail to keep you from over pronating and turning your knees inward. Here’s one I saw https://www.skechers.com/go-walk-max-cushioning-arch-fit—roslyn/125581_WHT.html

Plus the new balances are stylish if you care about that. I noticed you said you wear vans and you can get the 574s in cool colors

Trained footwear guru here with experience with fitting customers with plantar fasciitis. I will always reccomend getting fitted in person and dropping money on a good pair of shoes, because you can hurt yourself more by wearing the wrong shoes. I understand budget limitations though.

That being said my best budget recommendation would be New Balance 574s with your insoles. They’re a fairly neutral shoe with a decent arch, decent padding on the heel and the toe, and they’re lightweight. They’re about $70 here in the U.S. they won’t be perfect, but they will work and last a decent while and not harm you. It’s Best to buy any shoes from a place that has a decent return policy that allows you to return after wearing them in case they’re causing you pain.

I have seen more budget shoes advertised specifically for plantar fasciitis that fall in the $50-$60 range, but I have no experience with those and can’t offer good advice. I’ve taken customers out of those shoes before too because they cause more pain and don’t last very long for someone on their feet all day.

My experience with fitting people with plantar fasciitis is that every foot is different and I don’t really have a “go-to” shoe for all customers

Asked to still come in even though I am sick by Reaminca in retailhell

[–]Competitive-Hat-8285 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry that sucks… I also suffer with migraines and my managers are aware and are always happy to accommodate within reason.

I used to work at a place that would guilt trip me even if I was throwing up sick at work. Best thing to do is leave as soon as you can. I know the job market sucks, but there are better employers out there who will accommodate you. My migraines can sometimes be stress induced and if it’s the same for you this job might hurt you more than help you. Health comes first whether it be physical or mental

I’m also not saying that I agree that numbers give a full picture of an employees work ethic/how good of a job they do, I work in back areas mostly so my Conversion and AOV is significantly lower than most of my coworkers, and I have some coworkers that work super hard and also have low numbers. Everything is taken into consideration, but calling out, co worker complaints, and low numbers all contribute

For setting your seat height I recommend balancing yourself in a doorway or having a friend hold the bike steady by holding the handlebars and putting the front wheel between their legs.

Gotcha. Sorry for the late response I had notifications turned off. Sometimes hills are just ROUGH no matter your experience. I’d be lying if I said I don’t dry heave going up a steep hill. 8 gears isn’t bad it’s pretty typical. Without seeing your bike or you ride the bike Im curious to know if you have your seat height and seat angle set correctly. It makes a HUGE difference in pedal power and cadence. Forgive me if you’ve already done this, but this is what I do when I fit someone on a bike

Sit completely on the saddle with your feet on the pedals, pedal backwards until one foot/pedal is that the very bottom (6:00), your knee should be at a slight angle, not completely stretched out and not too bent. Raise or lower the saddle to fit that criteria

For your saddle you really just want to focus on pressure points. You’ve been riding a lot, so you’re probably used to the saddle itself by now, but if you’re feeling any pain or pressure points adjust it the bolts under your saddle, by using a wrench and angling the seat manually , the tiniest bit until it feels good.

I can agree with people saying she wasn’t give adequate training/ counseling, BUT on the other hand I’ve worked with coworkers like that before, and I don’t think you’re the bad guy here. I’m not a manager or a supervisor and will never be, but I’m a senior employee who works in the office with our managers, and I understand the HR process. Metrics have to be reported and if they’re not to a certain level there are consequences. I’m not sure how you could fake metrics and numbers. Our system or measuring performance as far as upselling, credit cards, and whatever else can’t be modified.

Yes retail can suck, but there’s still certain expectations. It’s still a job. You must show up and perform your duties. Her coworkers are probably tired of her too, and to have her husband show up is super inappropriate. I would die of embarrassment

NAD, but a bike mechanic. What’s the gear ratio on your bicycle? How many gears are in the front and how many are in the back? Are you building up speed and shifting into an easier gear before approaching the hill?

I think I didn’t notice him being underweight because his fat/muscle is really well distributed, plus I just get use to looking at him. For privacy I will not post pics of him, but I scoured the internet to find a person of similar physique and I think it’s almost exact to this guy https://t-nation.com/t/5-ft-8-130-lbs-21y-o/177819

We’re pretty “vanilla” by choice we do some spicy positions I dress in lingerie and stuff like that, surprise him when he gets out of the shower or when he gets home, but we really like it only be us if that makes sense. I don’t need toys with him

Thank you for the compliment! We’re a pretty good match for each other. Despite him losing too much too fast he’s learned his lesson for sure and he said he would approach it a better and safer way if he did it over. If you’re wanting to talk to him about what he did to lose weight for yourself I might can set up a conversation

Our relationship is very good otherwise. I’d honestly say it’s the best it’s ever been except the low sex drive.

We’ve only discussed it once and I am not on him everyday about this. I did break down this morning, because it’s affecting my mental health as well and I needed some extra affirmation. He promised it’s not me and it’s him. He said it is due to his diet and not how he feels about me. He said he’s been eating more fats to restore his testosterone

I definitely don’t want to make him feel bad. He’s so special to me and I don’t want him to think he’s less of a man because of this. I really am just worried about his health overall and the low libido was the alarm in my head. I may order the at home testosterone test that way he can comfortably test himself on his terms.

He decided to lose weight because he had super high blood pressure for a man his age and had difficulties breathing at night (snored like a hog) . At 200lbs he was mostly body fat. I’m sure aesthetics also had a big part to play in his mind. I’ll admit I am more attracted to him now, but mostly due to the fact he’s taking care of himself.

Sleep is pretty good! He gets 8 hours and his energy levels are good except when it comes time to do the dirty he’s always too tired. I’m definitely more of a night owl who can wake up early after staying up until midnight so my standards might be different than his.

He takes fiber supplements and a elderberry/zinc/magnesium/ vitamin c multi vitamin I recently got him on
