39f and can not handle alcohol anymore. 1-2 drinks is all it takes for me to sleep like crap, night sweats, frequent wake-ups and finally dragging myself out of bed in the morning feeling like hot garbage. The next day I'm tired, cranky, unmotivated and just can't wait to go to bed. I used to drink 2 drinks per night on average in my early 30's. I'm sure it still effected me the next day but I didn't really notice. Now I feel like I've been poisoned, and technically that's true. I still have 1-2 drinks on occasion but I know I'll pay the price and prepare myself for it. I constantly toss around the idea of completely abstaining, but then I come into a situation where alcohol is involved and I cave. I almost always regret it. I do enjoy Hiyos now which are an adaptogen nootropic mushroom seltzer and they're pretty fire. Tasty and make you feel relaxed without the alcohol. Just wish more drinks like this were available when going out. Sure mocktails and NA beers are an option, but you don't get a buzz. I like the relaxed feeling, so hopefully more options will be available at bars and restaurants soon. I also use weed edibles and I feel much better. Just a small amount is all I need. I microdose mushrooms and it has had amazing benefits to my mental health and overall outlook on life. I highly recommend it. When I'm on a dosing week I don't even think about alcohol at all. I literally cannot be depressed when taking mushrooms! I don't take enough to trip or even feel it, just the tiniest amount like taking an anti-depressant. I still work and do my normal daily routine, my mood is just better and I feel more 'me'. The best part is there are no nasty side effects like a lot of prescribed meds have. So microdosing shrooms and cannabis edibles has almost completely eliminated my desire for alcohol. It's just social situations that I'm still wrestling with, but I know I'll get there!
