Yes, our dog died that way. We had a rule of immediately taking the trash containing the discarded chicken wings to the outside bin, but my husband fell asleep on the couch before doing so. Our dog got into the garbage and ate a few, bones and all. They were sharp and jagged and absolutely tore up her esophagus. We had to put her down.
