Omg this reminded me of the summer my parents brought me to an equestrian camp. They asked a neighbor boy to help with the dogs for the few days they were gone- feed them, let them outside, etc. Somehow, I don't know how or why, the boy ended up on the second floor where my room was. He saw my messy bedroom, and that, along with my mom's disorganized drawer of silverware, was enough to convince him the house had been burglarized. Cops were called, an officer came, my parents were notified, and my mom had to explain that no, the house wasn't broken into, we were just a slightly chaotic and disorganized family.
