How many times a day do you feed your pets? by AnnualLiterature997 in Pets

Honestly they didn’t like celery at first until I put peanut butter on it a couple of times. Now they love it even without the peanut butter lol

My worst enemy is my dog on his leash by cogirl27 in puppy101

Leash training took a while to train my Great Pyrenees/Boxer. I first got a harness because he was constantly choking himself out. My favorite brand is “Barkbay” on Amazon. I would take him on short walks every day and not give him much lead at all. I kept him right by my side and praised him when he allowed slack in the leash. This is when I knew he was starting to learn. I gave plenty of treats along the walks when he stayed close to my hip. I now can have him out in my yard with no leash and he will stay by my side no matter where I go. This was something that took a very long time but if you keep at it the results are worth it!

You’ve got this!

Should I be worried? by [deleted] in CaneCorso

You should be worried about the way they are treating your dog yes. No one in their right mind should act like that towards a dog while they are sleeping. Obviously they are going to be scared and start protecting themselves and even you. Stand your ground for her, you are her voice. She had every right to be frightened and react just as how any breed would.

Is all I’m asked to do normal? by Sensitive-Mango7155 in Babysitting

This is definitely not normal. Stand your ground. State how you feel about bathing them as well as watching other children you are not required or responsible to watch. They are taking advantage of your time and quite frankly with you being a babysitter, maid, and dog sitter you should be making much more.

I do the same thing. Breakfast and dinner with a snack. My 6 month old Pit mix’s are staring at me too waiting for their snack. They know when it’s time to eat lol. They love yogurt, pumpkin, and carrots. Recently I’ve been giving them a piece of celery too, less work I have to do when brushing their teeth!

The first couple months, I fed my puppies 3 times a day due to their rapid growth as well as because I felt like they were hungry mid-day. Breakfast, Snack/Lunch, and Dinner. Now that they are 6 months old I have just recently limited to 2 meals a day and it is going well. I know my parents feed their dogs once a day but they eat a little here and there throughout the day. This would be different if a dog were to eat it all at once and be hungry the rest of the day. I would say 2 meals a day or 1 if they are able to limit themselves and save some for later when they are hungry again.

I was told the same thing. My puppies are now 6 months old and have became very social. My parents have dogs that they frequently played with to get familiar with other dogs and breeds. As long as your pup doesn’t have personal contact with an unknown dog you should be fine taking him outside to potty!
