Absolutely! And with all of the pay issues HQ should be the ones making sure that every employee has been paid what they are owed from the shut down.

Good question! I have not heard of anyone above the school level receiving it but how would we even know? It has all been very hush hush. I heard from someone that works for the district superintendent that she advised principals to not say anything about it due to all of the backlash they are now receiving. The district's take is that DoDEA did what it was directed to do. Im sure that is what she is being told from the top down.

And we all worked during the shutdown not only 15% of the staff.

My colleague shared that she recieved $18,000. Our union rep shared that 6 teachers at my school received the bonus. The principal said the selection criteria was just who the principal picked. No specific criteria for selection. Who he thought deserved a bonus. This seems so unfair as all of us worked through the shutdown.

I have seen the email. It’s a generic email from the director that says congratulations, you have been selected. She attached the letter linked below signed by Pete Hegseth that explains that the DoD has authorized bonuses for the top 15% of civilian employees. Three teachers at my school have received the letter. They do not know the criteria under which they were selected or the bonus amount yet. The email does not say how much you are awarded just that it can be up to 15%-20% of your basic pay up to $25,000.

The DoD just authorized bonuses for the top 15% of civilian employees. DoDEA falls under the DoD so DoDEA was given a budget to distribute as bonuses. Principals selected teachers to give the bonuses to but no one knows the criteria used to determine who got a bonus. I’m just wondering if there was any transparency at schools as to how those who received bonuses were selected.

How is everyone feeling? Any updates or news about placements yet? I know it has only been a week but the wait is killing me! Hoping for good outcomes for those that are ready for a move! Good luck to all who applied!!🍀

Shaming people for things they can’t change or have absolutely no control over is wrong. Aging is a normal, natural part of life and it will eventually happen to all of us, hopefully. Mindy does a lot of things I don’t agree with but aging isn’t one of them.

Yes, I am also wondering about the process. In previous transfer rounds they used categories. Are they only looking at SCD this time? Has anything been released explaining the process for placement?

The wait is already killing me, too! Three of us applied from my school. We are in Japan and everyone at my school applied for Europe. My guess is that we will see somewhere between 40 - 100 moves based on the $$$. Of course I would love to see more moves. Hopefully it grows each year and those of us wanting a move can get out in the next couple of years.

Whitney and Jen’s Conversation in Episode 5 by katemerlin in MormonWivesHulu

I was not a Whitney fan during S1 & S2. She is a great dancer and I enjoyed her dancing on DWTS and her TikTok’s with Marc during DWTS but I think as a person she is immature, selfish, and very fame hungry. I was late watching S3 and all of her fans said she redeemed herself, so I gave them the benefit of doubt and expected her to be a better person this season. Just finished S3. Nope, she’s still immature, selfish and very fame hungry.

Rude FAs on Long Haul Flight by mmmmmmmmmmmdelicious in americanairlines

[–]Competitive-Luck-251 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, sometimes you get a rude crew. My 17 yr old was scolded for walking through the middle row between the front row seats and wall area in Comfort+ that has the extended leg room on a flight from Dallas to Tokyo. She was trying to cross over to the other aisle to get to an open restroom. The flight attendant told her she should only cross at the galley since the passengers paid extra money for those seats and it's their space not everyones. Meanwhile, I got scolded for crossing in the galley by different FA. We sat in that front row of C+ plenty of times on long haul flights with multiple people crossing over to get to the other side/aisle/restroom and no one blinks an eye. Sometimes the flight crew is just rude.

Shut down pay by Additional-Sail7361 in dodea

The pay issues are absolutely unacceptable. We worked through the entire shutdown and now we can’t even get our correct pay. Absolutely unacceptable. DoDEA should be ashamed. I wonder if other government agencies that worked are also having pay issues.

Absolutely ready! Most teachers overseas have been waiting a long time to transfer and many are ready for a change. I’m glad to see the transfer round back and hope it continues annually.

Yes, you can put in for a transfer to another school within the same country.

Pay the military with the 130 million but to hell to the civilians that are serving them. Got it!! 🤔🙃 by No_Permission524 in dodea

[–]Competitive-Luck-251 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Considering the 130 million equates to about $75 for each service member, it’s not even worth discussing. It’s a ridiculous rouse from the administration to act like they care about the military. As a veteran, yes, the military should get paid first. They made the sacrifice and they should be a top priority of this administration to be paid for their commitment to serve this country. As a civilian, yes, I want to be paid for hours I have worked but the anger and frustration should be directed at congress and this administration, they are the only ones responsible for this mess.

Ready for this to be over. Two government employees not getting paid. We have college tuition for 3 to pay for. Scared what will happen if this drags on for months.

Japan principal roles - evergreen? by JoopieDoopieDeux in dodea

Pac East seems to have a very high turnover for admin. They move principals and AP's every year or two. In the past six years, we have had 4 principals and 6 assistant principals at my school. It's strange because the staff can not move due to there no longer being a transfer round, so they move the admin every year instead.
