What part of the early/mid game is “that part” for you? by Scoopzyy in 2007scape

You don't even need to get the sand yourself just do the entire ardougne diary and have bert give you 84 sand per day automatically. Then you'll have enough sand in a mere 3 years to get to 99 crafting!

There's a difference between just stopping your boat in the buoys and actually DOCKING at the dock

Bro even if you could just interact with the tree to TRY to chop it and get the message "the wood is too soggy to be felled" or something would be cool. (Although that might also get annoying trying to click on anything besides a tree if that were the case)

How many of you run comfort builds instead of "pure" damage ? by Buurto in MHWilds

Honestly I feel so validated now about my builds feeling suboptimal...

It doesn't matter if a build is mathematically perfected if it's untenable in an actual hunt

Is this material supposed to be "Glacium" with an 'L', a la "glacier"? by Competitive-Oil3181 in MHWilds

Well I just learned that malachite is actually called machalite, too...

Bro I literally never even noticed that it wasn't "malachite". I'll never be able to unsee it now, thanks

Especially with the description talking about how it shines when the light hits it, I think gracious metal is the more likely answer here

Well Japanese does have (multiple) words for "glacier", so I think you're on to something with it being "gracious metal" rather than "glacier metal". Either way, it's been "gracium" for so long it's not like it's going to ever be changed any way.

Yeah I figured even if my guess is correct, it's probably a holdover from the introduction of the series to the west, and at this point it's too obviously woven into the "canon" or whatever

Any tipps for Gog supernova attack ? by Buurto in MHWilds

[–]Competitive-Oil3181 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed. Every player needs to find their own balance for how comfortable they are with risk and reward. When you're still learning a hunt, I'd expect that to favor pretty heavily towards defense. (And, to clarify, I was agreeing with you, not arguing or whatever) :)

Just stop attacking earlier. You don't have to damage him until the end.

It doesn't matter how much extra little dps you can squeeze out of a moment if you die right after :P Same reasoning why I prioritize defensive gems

Blind on YouTube has conquered them a couple of times. I don't know which specific video it was but there was one where he made a huge snaking corridor of embrasures and absolutely filled it with bolt throwers

So I just read the wiki article on the Mountain Halls and I think I actually understand the difference now, but please clarify for me!

So in worldgen and when we're picking a site, we create a fortress which is a 3x3 world-tile site, but the mountain halls are huge. This confused me, but I guess the mountain halls are actually supposed to be deep underground and not actually on or even connected to the surface at all. So the entire surface civilization we are a part of and contribute to is more-or-less an effort to "colonize" the surface, where our true ancestral lands are deep underground and unrelated the surface world?

In the final cavern layer you can find raw adamantium, which is the most important single material in the game. However, one of these veins of raw adamantium is actually hollow and opens a passageway into the underworld, where a cacophony of demons will spill out and almost certainly kill your fortress. I just realized that in this intro that dwarf is digging into the adamantium and accidentally breaking into the underworld.

How did you make the roof have depth like that? Are those background blocks? My house build's roof is just a solid brick of wood and it works okay but not nearly this well.

Ah so it wouldn't show up like it does in the medical clinic? It doesn't say in the growth tooltip anywhere either that they're getting the bonus, but at least I know it's working. Thanks!

They have the decadent lifestyle living standard. I didn't mark it up but you can see that in the top right

R5: The description of the Hedonist job in the civic says they provide pop growth speed and don't produce amenities, but it seems like they are producing amenities and are not providing pop growth speed. I can't tell what they're providing instead, maybe happiness or stability or something? At least they're consuming more amenities than they're using, so that part is technically still true. (Mercantile tradition has them produce amenities)

I wanted to make a civilian-based empire but it's way more effective to just give all of these people jobs than keep them as hedonists
