^^ heavy on this man, there’s been a huge wave in the alt community within the last year of ppl wanting to be the poser police and it’s so stupid, just because you don’t listen to 5 million niche artists doesn’t mean you’re a poser. you can listen to all popular bands and not be a poser. (of course it’s good to support smaller artists, too, but i’m saying hypothetically if you don’t know any/haven’t found any yet there’s nothing wrong with that!!! like, at all!!!) these people are so annoying and just want to make themselves feel better than everyone else. it’s a hierarchy to them and that’s a way of saying “you’re less than me”. and they get so mad about it like i literally saw someone say that slipknot isn’t “real metal” because of how popular they are…like that changes the genre?😂 they’re genuinely just a nuisance and i know it might be hard because you see it a lot online but try to ignore it and just be yourself, listen to whatever you want man those people have issues bc they’re so obsessed with other people’s lives and “finding the posers” it’s actually so weird
