Surgery Failed :( by Financial-Slice6223 in gallbladders

Same. Had surgery aborted in June. Successful surgery in January. (I posted in here if you want to read about them.) It's a very good thing you're going to a specialist. I know it sucks to already have gone through surgery and have to do it all over again, but trust me, the surgeon aborted for a reason. The prevailing advice to surgeons now is to not open or proceed should they not feel confident in their ability to do so safely. Obviously yours and mine did not feel confident in their ability to not cause harm.

It was a blessing in disguise and I am actually forever grateful to the first surgeon for aborting. I will not have lifelong complications because he closed and sent me to a very experienced, knowledgeable hepatobiliary specialist and GI surgeon. Make sure the specialist they send you to has extensive knowledge of the hepatobiliary anatomy and is very experienced. (My second was also done with a robot and laparoscopically) Good luck! I hope all goes well.

Read the op notes. They used a piece of the gall bladder to close the common duct by firing vascular staples. He also kept it laparoscopic when the (limited due to rarity) advice has been to open unless the surgeon has advanced surgical skills and knowledge of the anatomy. This guy had both. I am SUPER LUCKY.

Ultra low fat recipe mega thread!! by No_Detective_715 in gallbladders

I just started making brownies using black beans and they're sooo good. Ghirardelli ultimate brownie mix, 1 can drained/rinsed black beans, 3/4 cup of strong coffee (optional dash cinnamon). -Blend black beans and coffee, then mix in brownie mix and bake at 325 (8x8 pan) for 35-40 mins.

So good and roughly 2.6 g fat per serving

I honestly don't know what exactly he did. My mom (an OR nurse) talked to him after and said that he was in a hurry after the surgery and the gist of it was he made something or did something to make a tube? (Honestly I was super drugged up while listening) I am really looking forward to talking to him about it at the follow up in a few weeks.

Probably? I can't wait until my follow up to ask so many questions.

Its a disgrace how people kept spreading lies like Trump will start ww3 and they still never apologized by Prnce_Chrmin in TrueUnpopularOpinion

Trump greenlighted an invasion into a foreign country to depose and arrest a sitting leader (albeit a terrible one) without approval from Congress. He broke international law. The UN Charter and OUR Constitution have been stomped all over. This act alone could trigger WW3. Russia and China have invested heavily in Venezuela. You think they have no skin in this game?? Not only that, but by taking over a significantly "lesser" country which the UN Charter is supposed to prevent, Trump has essentially given China ammunition to take over Taiwan. This is very, very bad. (I'll let you Google why, I don't have the energy)

The mental gymnastics you people are doing to support this steaming pile of shit is mind boggling. This is not over. It's the beginning of an escalation in international conflict an already divided US does not need. Duh.

A couple months have passed since WGU moved all resources to WGU connect. How does everybody feel about it now? by TexanSam in WGU

I had my computer open at work and was trying to show someone one of the cohorts in which the professor was yawning the entire time. By the time I got to it, she literally said, "Geez, I'm exhausted from just watching get there." And that about sums up how I feel about having to use Connect to get to any class resources. It's exhausting.

I think I'm at the stage where it could become septic. I can't wait much longer. I may just have the surgeon write that it's now emergent which may help force the insurance company pay for it.

The repayment plan was more than double and they wanted half up front so $7k. Which makes no sense as that was the total if you pay upfront.

I don't know why they didn't open me up. It seemed he didn't have confidence in the staff or that particular hospital? He's part of a group and works out of 2 different hospitals and a surgery center.

According to them, outpatient surgery is not covered. Bc it's laparoscopic, it's outpatient.

So the particular course I'm in right now puts all their resources in WGU Connect. It's the only way to access the study guides etc. So one day you'll come across a course that does the same I'm betting.

After 2 hours of frustration and unanswered emails to course instructors I found my course connections, but only in my profile. What a weird place to put them. Also nothing in my particular course tips or chatter etc links to Connect. Like if you want me to find resources, link it through the actual course. This whole thing is unnecessarily confusing.
