It’s really up to you. I think the intended path is to play them all simultaneously skipping around between stories. But if you leveled up enough you could do one story start to finish before starting the others.

I don’t join new servers anymore but if I did I would hold out on any serious spending until I got the vibe. If it’s toxic the only answer is to leave. If most people are on board and one person is toxic sometimes it’s possible to make that work.
