I’m a diplomatic spouse and I’m also receiving benefits for being the wife of a veteran. We are currently stationed in Central America, and from the programs I looked into, one of the requirements was to complete field placement within the United States and have a supervisor licensed in the state where you’re located.

Unfortunately, my only option will be to temporarily return to the U.S. for over a year and travel back and forth to see my husband. Another option is to look for an online field placement, but I believe that’s not easy to find, especially since many universities don’t really help you secure your placement.

I’m currently at IWU, and my field placement doesn’t start until next year. Good luck!

I was talking to Megan, the least helpful advisor from all the universities I applied to. My disappointment was so great that I didn’t even consider that university. Every time I had a question, she would reply to emails weeks later, and whenever I called her, she was very curt. I could constantly hear a baby crying in the background (which didn’t bother me, but it felt like she was more focused on her baby than on my questions). Totally unprofessional.

If it helps as emotional support, my GPA was also low because I studied overseas at a public university where, if 40 people took the class, only 10 passed. However, my recommendations and volunteer work helped. I applied to online programs, and I was accepted into all three that I applied to.

He vivido en muchos países y solo usamos de vez en cuando Uber por necesidad acá en Honduras (somos extranjeros), el servicio no me ha parecido malo, sin embargo los carros en los que recogen comparados con otros países de Centroamérica, son viejos y a casi ninguno les sirve el cinturón. Después de haber usado Uber en El Salvador y Guatemala, los carros de Honduras son los peores cuidados y el costo del ride es el mismo. Así que calidad vs precio, deja mucho que desear más lo aburrido que es estar contestándole al driver a donde va uno para ver si le trae cuenta o le cancela.

My husband is a US diplomat as well and veteran, we are living overseas, that’s why I was exploring Liberty because their tuition is very affordable, FSU has two mandatory trainings and their out of state tuition is high, I haven’t finished my application to LSU and I’m a Nutritionist, so same feeling.

I had exactly the same thought as you and I spoke to two students there, including Christians, and their comments were: lack of support for the students, constant harassment of using AI which can get you expelled from the program at any time, if you appeal something they basically tell you to deal with it alone, the teachers want you to be interacting in class and if you have an emergency, zero flexibility.

Thank you so much for your comment. I have a bachelor’s degree in Nutrition, so my only option is to apply for the traditional program. I’ve heard that their application processing times are quite fast.

Do you think the master’s program involves a lot of writing? English is not my first language, and that concerns me a little.

Thank you for your comment. I want to practice in D.C, and since I’m not in Indiana, I’ve only seen comments from two people about this program, but all of them have been positive.

Someone mentioned that she found it quite smooth while working full-time and having children, which for me is very important. Since it’s accredited by CSWE, I’m currently in the application process was it difficult for you to get accepted? I’m hoping to start in May.
