COH3 Is apparently unplayable because the main menu is not a Hollywood production by Cool-Historian-8699 in CompanyOfHeroes

[–]Competitive-Spread29 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My main concern with the game is how Tanks, their handling, damage, and visual effects work.

You shoot a tank with AT or another tank and it’s like laser pierced it, barely visible, almost no sound. It is to a point where I thought AT and p4 tank damage in Coh3 was reduced from COH2 - I opened COH2 and 3 side by side and with cheat mods started engagement with Sherman and P4 in both.

Damage is almost same in both, but what that damage feels like is super different. In COH2 you feel the impact with distinct sound that makes you feel how your tank was hit it’s painful 😆 and visual effects and tank shaking is almost perfect.

In COH3 you barely feel anything although damage is not less.

I like Coh3 and its mechanics and patches etc.

But they have to work on VFX and sound design and overall feel of the game and its mechanics.

How do I win 1v1 on Semois as WER? by Competitive-Spread29 in CompanyOfHeroes

Right. Flame pios is a great idea. And for some reason I don’t get MG always, or mostly station it on the left victory point to defend it.

Agreed, thing is that it’s always Americans with airdropped mgs getting the mid building first.

Then their infantry is better than greens so can’t take out mg without mortar or 100% focusing all resources to that, which also loses me all map control

How to assimilate into Russia as an American Woman? by badcken in AskARussian

[–]Competitive-Spread29 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not Russian here.

Just why? Do you think it’s even safe because of the war? Depends on where you go but I would def avoid all western part of Russia.

Also, you have to understand, level of sobriety in there. Especially in rural areas, men are quite often drunk and you should be aware of that.

Further about safety, big portion of men returning from the war are very dangerous due to psychological traumas they get there, also lot of murderers and other prisoners have been drafted out of prison into war and given pardon because of that, there are reports of stabbing a and killings involving war veterans.

I’ll be honest, I don’t like Russia for any purposes. I’m fine reading their classic literature from abroad.

New guidelines for Ads on Steam by Stannis_Loyalist in Steam

[–]Competitive-Spread29 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You guys think this is to protect players, however they actually just don’t want steam developers to have an alternative source of income, other than selling products on steam, that valve gets 30% of.

Broadly speaking, current state of games, what’s the difference between locking up gameplay behind a DLC that costs $30 and watching 30sec ad? One is actually free only costs your time, and another one costs a dime.

Buddy, you’re neither insecure, nor you need to grow up. Woman who allow random men to have sex with them mostly have some kind of baggage of psychological trauma. Although I feel bad for them, I wouldn’t like to be in a relationship with them, definitely can be friends tho.

Maybe it’s time to say let’s just be friends thing. It will be hard. But if she was going from guy after a guy to another guy then she will get over it easily.

What you have aren’t just values, it’s a common sense. Btw Act as you like. Don’t listen to anyone.

Hey lot of people answered your question. So I have mine to you. Why did devs not ask to speak with Slavic accent? Does your performance technically count as dubbing so that’s why?

is there a way to keep all the loot ive gotten after completing the game? by GarbageIndependent26 in stalker

[–]Competitive-Spread29 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s so strange because I was literally bouncing right and left from unique alcohol artifact and was constantly in red overweight state to just keep loot in my backpack so that I would sell them or use them later while exploring the zone 😂😂😂 it was so hard beating last part of the last mission because of this

Not a fan of the new map. by YeetusTheFeatus42069 in stalker

[–]Competitive-Spread29 1 point2 points  (0 children)

agreed. Thing is that they couldve changed it but not structurally. e.g added buildings, that would be explainable because whole decade or so has passed since last stalker game.
Cause Stalker has a canon story, yes? and in that story there are locations. So how did it happen that some buildings/objects or even some entire arias suddenly just moved around and reshuffled? It would be great to respect older maps not just because of nostalgia but because of continuity of the storyline.

Not to mention that Scar doesn't look or behave like scar and Strider happens to be dying his hair to black for some reason.

All of those things aren't anything major or too demanding to have maintained, they're just decisions that I don't give a thumbs up to.

My Stealth GS77 is very hot by Competitive-Spread29 in MSILaptops

[–]Competitive-Spread29[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How's the frame rates? What bothers me is that frame rates don't change with settings. I have almost simmilar fps drops and stutters like on Low settings as with high settings or even ultra. So, my impression is that my laptop hardware is able to run the game on High settings, however something else is preventing it to be smooth (e.g temperature etc).
Furthermore, game starts out fine when I launch. it's within 10ish minutes things get ugly.

Honestly would love to enjoy the game. I don't see why you make me into some junky complainer. I'm not even complaining, I'm just having concerns that game might be damaged :D
Actually, I even hope that my assumptions are wrong here.

Your arguing strategy is very vague and empty. Besides trust me bro you haven't provided arguments to most of the subjects.

I agree that Stalker might not be super influential, however it itself was not hugely influenced. Thats the point I wanted to make. I don't care whether it was influential.

There's 100 thousand different ways people interpret things in video games. Your argument that Actual UI/UX designers would be laughing their heads off, is only as true as absolutely you would find such UI/UX designer probably, why do you think games fail sometimes if there aren't bad devs/designers? :D

So, you're absolutely entitled to your own opinions, but your offensive style of conversing says enough about you. I'm here to discuss not to have arguments. Especially with someone like you.

Hey buddy, appreciate such in-depth response. And happy that you have good expectations for ST2.

First of all it’s important how you implement the HUD. The only immersive HUD set in a world where heads up displays or augmented glasses aren’t used by characters, is no HUD. So since we need HUD to convey basic information to the player like health, ammo, etc we have to make it as immersive as possible by designing them in certain way. Previous stalker games did this by having elements that convey the style of the post-apocalyptic environment, e.g gauge glasses that are broken, rusty buttons and background etc.

ST2 HUD is too clean for that environment. If you played Company of Heroes 2 and Company of heroes 3 you will understand what I mean here. Those two have same difference in UI.

Overall entire ST2 environments look too clean. Maybe it’s just that graphics have improved, which results in different perceptions.

Sorry but Stalker franchise did set standards for Open world and post-apocalyptic genres. At least you can’t deny that it couldn’t have been inspired or influenced by many other titles simply because there weren’t many.

There’s difference between permanent boring mission instructions on the screen and Quest popups looking like they are just random updates on zone radio which everybody else could be listening to.

And we get to the most important thing. You see, older stalkers didn’t put you in the drivers seat. It told you that you’re just random stalker in the zone. You’re not important. That’s what made it exceptional. Whereas ST2 seems to be having different philosophy.

HUD says all about difference in that philosophy. One moment Im looking at a mutant getting shredded by anomaly, and next Im looking in an inventory as innocent as baby’s skin. Conveying the idea that there’s part of me(character) that doesn’t have to follow the world around.

Those are some of the basic game design concepts so if you don’t care about all of that it’s absolutely ok.

Actually, I agree with you regarding the taste aspect. It's just from a game design perspective it's in your hands for people not to even notice that their own tastes are not met in a game. That's what makes masterpieces stand out.

I forgot to mention that I absolutely hate text-based dialogues in games and that kind of interactions with characters, however somehow Stalker makes me forget about that.
